  1. You're more than welcome for the constant information! And welcome back to New York from the West Coast! As far as the paperwork and/or jobs are concerned, just submit it with the way you stand right now, since there is a deadline. If you obtain a permanent address and/or find another job in the interim, you can always update your paperwork. You're not able to provide the signature on the PDF format? When I save the PDF file to my desktop, I use the "fill and sign" feature to sign the documents. I have used feature this at least twice during the pandemic for other "official" documents, and the people reviewing the documents said the following two words to me: "Good enough." I would encourage you to look at the three "print-screen" images below which should help you. If you still need help, send me a Private Message (PM) and I'll try to help you out to the best of my ability. Good luck!!
  2. It is legitimate, they are just trying to keep the different departments separate, such as Buses, RTO (Rapid Transit Operations), MOW (Maintenance of Way), etc. If you forgot your list number, type your last name into the search box of this website. That should do the trick. Everything has to be filled out to the best of your ability before you get there. If anything is questionable, they will try to resolve it via e-mail before you arrive to 180 Livingston Street. Good luck everyone!!
  3. Congrats! My apologies for being late, however for those who still have to go through the 10-Day Training Session, have you considered looking at the handouts? Good luck!!
  4. For now, you can simply decline the offer. Once you get the permit, even if it's the temporary one that they initially give you, you can restore your name to the list (refer to the green announcement box at the top of this webpage for instructions on how to do this). Just note that you can renew your permit in 6 months without taking any of the multiple-choice examinations, however if you need to renew your permit a year from when you obtain it, you will have to take the multiple-choice examinations over again. Since this is a "Civil Service" position, your list number remains the same. As a perfect example, if you type "Bus Operator" into the search box of the Civil Service List Certification webpage, you will see that, for the March 19th Certification, those who restored their name to the list for the B/O 4600 list received first priority, since that list is the oldest. Next, the people who restored their name to the B/O 7612 list received second priority, followed by the people who restored their name to this list, before they started calling the people in consecutive order for the first time (200, 201, 202, 203, etc.) Therefore, you are "somewhat" bumped to the top of the list, however it depends on who else restored their name to the list, especially those from the other two lists and/or examinations. The drug test is done via urine. Good luck everyone!!
  5. First of all, welcome to the Forums! Second, have you considered reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here? Good luck!!
  6. You're welcome!! Good luck in training, and don't forget to look at the handouts!!
  7. You're most welcome, and thank you for the kind words. Good luck during training!!
  8. First of all, welcome to the Forums!! Have you taken a brief moment to read the guidelines? If not, please take a moment and do so. If you read the guidelines, one of the things which is mentioned under "Forum Etiquette" is to "post in the relevant forum." However, since you are new, and this is your first post, I'll answer the question, providing you can follow the guidelines going forward, which would be truly appreciated not only to me, but to everyone else as well. For future reference, the B/O 9604 thread can be found here. If you type "Bus Operator" into the search box, which is located at the top-right hand corner of this webpage, and you scroll down 2/3 to 3/4 of the webpage, you will see that for the March 19th, 2021 Certification, the consecutive numbers off of the 9604 list don't start until the person whose list number is 200 (200, 201, 202, 203, 204, etc.) Therefore, for the people whose list number is lower than 200, they have either been hired, had their name removed from the list, declined their appointment, or whatever the case may be. As a result, if you read the last pages of the B/O 9604 thread, some people have not only received an e-mail, but some people also got hired as well! In conclusion, I would encourage you to switch over to the other thread, not only to read up about what's going on, but to also post any more questions in the relevant thread/topic as well. Again, welcome to the Forums!!
  9. From doing my research on the TTMG website, the list of Depots for MTA Bus are as follows: -Baisley Park Depot (Queens) (former Jamaica Bus Lines) -College Point Depot (Queens) (former Queens Surface Corporation) -Eastchester (Bronx) (former New York Bus Service) -Far Rockaway Depot (Queens) (former Green Bus Lines) -JFK Depot (Queens) (former Green Bus Lines) -LaGuardia Depot (Queens) (former Triboro Coach) -Spring Creek Depot (Brooklyn) (former Command Bus Company) -Yonkers (former Liberty Lines Express) If you're interested in reading more about the history of MTA Bus Company, which is less than 20 years old, click here. Good luck!!
  10. A lot of the other members, who currently work for the TA, have already expressed their opinions and/or viewpoints which I'm extremely grateful for. Personally, you get to you live your life only once, and you want to make the most out of it, which includes being "overall" happy and satisfied at your job, which, hopefully you enjoy doing day in and day out. Therefore, I would do some research, make a chart with the "Pros" and "Cons" of Transit vs. Sanitation, weigh all the facts and take it from there. Good luck!!
  11. Do you (yes, you reading this post) have a CDL (Class A, B or C) with no N1 or N2 restriction, live in Queens, Nassau and/or Western Suffolk County, and are looking for either a full-time or part-time temporary position this summer? If so, Shibley Day Camp is looking to hire drivers for their 8-week, 39 day program (with the exception of July 5th). If you're interested, the phone number is on the bottom of this webpage, just ask for "Bob" when getting in contact. Also note that the camp leases the mini-school buses from Suffolk Transportation Services for their 8 week program, therefore the buses will be at the camp in Roslyn and not in Suffolk. Stay safe and healthy!!
  12. First of all, welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you on board! When you took the examination back in June of 2019, one of the pieces of paper which was on your desk was titled "Candidate's Record of Answers," which was either yellow or green. If you filled out this piece of paper with your answers, you can compare this with the answer key, which is located on this webpage. After you do so, you can calculate your score: -If you got 42 questions correct, 42 divided by 60 equals 0.7, which is 70% (the lowest score to pass the exam, anything below this is failing) -If you got 48 questions correct, 48 divided by 60 equals 0.8, which is 80% -If you got 54 questions correct, 54 divided by 60 equals 0.9, which is 90% As far as receiving your results for this particular exam, to this date, none of us received our results. With these Civil Service Exams, once the list is published, then we will get our results. The quickest way to find out your results is by typing your last name into the search box of this webpage. With all of the Civil Service Exams that I have taken, between NYC Transit and DCAS, this particular webpage is "instantly" updated with the results, compared to waiting for them either in an e-mail message or in the regular mail. Good luck!!
  13. You're welcome. Going forward, as per the guidelines of the website, especially when it comes to "Forum Etiquette," if you and everyone else can kindly "Post In The Relevant Forum," which can be found by clicking here, it would be appreciated. Thanks!
  14. The first two words are "Successful completion." Therefore, they will do it that day, in the form of a drug (urine) test.
  15. Lately, I've been trying to get in contact with someone from NYC Transit's Human Resources Department for some information which is on the "private" side and whenever I call these phone numbers from my house phone during business hours, I keep getting a message which states "We're sorry. Your call cannot be completed at this time. Please hang up and try your call again later. Thank you." What's more interesting is that when I call these phone numbers during non-business hours, I get their answering machine with no problem! Now I know another member said in this post "I spammed called them (the higher ups) like crazy today to no response..." Therefore, is it just me who's having this problem? Or does it seem that NYC Transit's Human Resources Department, and everyone else connected to them, are no longer picking up the phone for whatever reason? Thanks in advance for the replies, I appreciate it.
  16. You're welcome!! Good luck and don't forget to keep us updated!!
  17. Click here and type your last name into the search box on the top right hand side of the screen. Good luck!!
  18. Have you folks considered reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be found here, to make sure you get the e-mail message before reporting to 180 Livingston Street? Good luck!! Don't forget to keep us updated!!
  19. @MTA MAC, I just sent you a Private Message (PM) in regards to this. If you can please send me a reply, I would truly appreciate it.
  20. Yes I am, especially if you look at this post and this Indeed.com advertisement. Going forward, as per the guidelines, if we can refrain from "off-topic posting," it would be appreciated. If you want to talk about this further, you are more than welcome to do so in this thread and/or topic. Thanks!
  21. Depending on when you do this, I would restore your name to the list immediately after you have successfully taken and passed all of the multiple-choice examinations at the Department of Motor Vehicles, which are General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Passenger Endorsement (see note below). This way, you cannot be turned away for not having the required CDL (Commercial Drivers License) and/or CLP (Commercial Learners Permit). (Note: If you can "swing" it, I would look to get the School Bus Endorsement as well. This way, if you are unsuccessful with the MTA prior to taking your road test, at least you can use the same permit at a local driving school for a "big" School Bus with air brakes, respectively. Some School Bus companies will even hire you with the permit as well, depending on where you live.) Good luck!!
