  1. Ya gotta come on AIM, Brighton But to answer your question, I have built the to South Ferry (connected to the old loops and the at Bowling Green, and the new terminal), and the have been connected to Boro Hall in Brooklyn. So, the only thing left for those lines is the Lenox Branch from 96 to 148, and the spur north of 135 St to Grand Conc-149. Then I'll step away from the Bronx, and rep my home borough of Queens with the , and hopefully do it some justice with all the amazing scenery that line provides. -A P.S. Pictures will be coming either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon!
  2. This needs to go to the Trainz FAQ & Support Thread. This doesn't belong here gentlemen, thank you. -A
  3. That would require doubling-up each rollsign to make sure each of the terminal destinations (sometimes more than two) are included, and that would (unnecessarily) and quickly multiply the number of rollsigns in the set. -A
  4. All you have to do is open up the pic files and add an LED pic/font to the front. I have over 70+ R32 textures, and it's cumbersome to re-do them all. There are only about 25-30 of the R62 ones and they're easier to fix, so I'll have to respectfully decline. @Kendall: Doors automatically open and close when you use passenger-enabled stations. -A
  5. @Strain, I'll be providing a link later on tonight. Apparently, there are different versions of the link floating, so everyone's got different errors (minor texture things) on different stations, so I have to look at all the stations on my computer, and make sure they're error-free (and fix any lingering texture issues which still escape me from time to time), before doing a CDP and uploading it for you guys. The platform issue and a lot of texturing and attachment point issues were brought to my attention and have since been fixed. Also, the changeable texture/editable sign I posted a pic of a few weeks back is almost finished, I need to do some variations that exactly fit the subway tunnels. Also, the name pillars R33WF showed on his route were actually in development by BStyles & myself as far back as last fall, but it never got off the ground--those will be available too. I'm going to be releasing the textures for the mega-overhead sign in portions, because I have about 100 done, and about twice that to go, so rather than make you guys wait for all 300, I'm going to slowly release them. First out will be all of the IRT lines. Also guys, if anyone can please please play around with triggers (I know another user is doing that, his name escapes me right now), and see if you can get the timer signals to work as their real life counterparts, that'd be excellent. As a Trainz Veteran, there still is a LOT to the game that I'm discovering and learning--never assume you know all! Lastly, I know the black background on my R33 & R62 rollsigns is an eyesore (credit it to severe n00b status two years ago!), and I have been meaning to fix those--so that's another quick weekend project I will be tackling and having ready by mid-week. Also, no pics taken yet, but service has been extended down to Chambers St. service is still not up yet, and will be implemented once the Lenox Branch is done from 148 to 96, and the Bronx leg is connected north of 135 St. I'm surprised at how quickly route building is going on this--but the dreadful signalling and outdoor scenery is laughing behind a dark corner somewhere because it knows I'm partially dreading that part! Excellent work from my main man B, as always! Enjoy your weekend fellas! -A
  6. Threxx is correct, this is a modern day map, however when doing the Mega Route, the JFK Express is possible. But, this is A Division, and it only stretches as far east as New Lots Avenue on the , so no JFK Connection. BStyles is in charge of the official release of a B-Division route, and I'm still debating on whether or not to release the mega-route, as it's a personal project at the moment. -A
  7. Well, we aren't in the Bronx yet, but at least the has reached it's final (northerly) Manhattan stop. Service now runs from 215 St to 34 St, all times. Trains can lay up on the middle track or downtown track via switches north of 215. Also, to ease congestion, one-third of the trains terminate at Dyckman St, and use that middle track for storage, all the way up to 215 St, so there's plenty of room! Service Update I re-did the Manhattan Valley Viaduct using Ish6's excellent subway items Dyckman St & Fort George Tunnel Credit for the tracks goes to Samplaire! Go check them out! 207 St, and B-Div yard lead 207 to Dyckman, looking south 215 St and layups Enjoy! Tonight, and into tomorrow, construction will begin south of 34 St, to Chambers St. Weekend work will add service as an express between 96 and 14, and have all trains terminate there so the line can be built from Chambers, south to the Ferry, and to the East River tunnels into Brooklyn. -A
  8. Last one of the night: Layups north of 168 St with appropriate home signals. Left one is G-Y-R on the top head, and only Y-R on the bottom (diverge moves only), and the right is G-Y-R on top, and only G-R on bottom (no diverge move available since it's a trailing point switch). Eventually these tracks will go further up and into the Bronx, which I hope to get to tomorrow afternoon! Enjoy and have a great night folks! -A
  9. I used the AJS Portal Walls, and just lifted up the surrounding ground area to make it look like it's coming out of a deep valley. The Manhattan Valley Viaduct is about 82.4 feet above the ground level, so instead of lifting up the tracks, I kept them level, and dropped the surrounding area 25 meters. And as promised---progress! service now extended to 168 St full time. Tracks north of 168 (not built yet!) used for layups and the single crossover for switching. Some trains lay up at 137 as well. 168 St, overhead view (notice the elevations) 145 St, Downtown Platform 137 St Yard: View from 145 St View from 137 St Platform View @ 137 Enjoy! -A
  10. trains provide the only B'way-7 Av service right now, from 34 to 137 St. Let me tell you, the Manhattan Viaduct was interesting and challenging to build, but I did it. Route pics: Train laid up at 137 St Looking south at 137 St towards the Manhattan Valley Viaduct's 135 St portal: Manhattan Valley Viaduct 122 St Portal (looking Downtown) Uptown view of the Viaduct's 122 St Portal. If you squint (lol) you can see 125 St in the distance 96 St/Broadway (Looking Uptown) Lenox/Broadway lines' Junction: to the left, dipping underneath, and to the right. Enjoy! -A
  11. Once those sections are finished, of course! -A
  12. An announcement about an upcoming project: BStyles is shifting our website domain away from IP Board over to Hostgator. He'll be backing up the accounts and passwords of all who joined and switch it over upon set up. The IP Board Site will be down for a few days. Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of the new website address and registration details. This will be where ALL of our content past, present, and future will be hosted---which will eliminate the need for posting mediafire links, and stop questions of "Where can 'x y and z' be found?" IRT Route update: 7 Av line built to 96 St, construction commences today on the Bronx-Broadway branch, and the Lenox/Harlem branch, which will eventually connect to the Bronx which currently stub-ends west of 149 St-Grand Concourse. -A

  14. The signs don't work as trackmarks, they work as trackside objects. Below is the link, but let me make a list of what signs are available and what they're used for and how to set them up in game. Forewarning: For ALL speed limit signs, you MUST use an invisible speed signal (built-in to the game) and set the speed to match what you put on the sign. Without them, nothing changes as they are not automatic speed limit signs (kind: mospeedboard). All signs come with three versions: Right-hand, left-hand, and overhead (for stations). All signs are editable in the ? (properties) tab unless specified. Car Stop Sign- blank white sign; input any number to tell you what length of train stops at that sign. Used in stations. Car Reverse Sign- white sign with "CAR" on the bottom; same as above, but used where trains lay up and/or reverse direction. 4-6 and 8-10 Car Stop signs- same as the car stop signs, but numbers are already on the texture. Cannot be renamed in the properties tab. Diverge Speed Sign: Black "D" on yellow sign. Used for designating the speed limit for a diverging movement. Grade Time (GT) sign: GT on yellow sign. Speed limit sign for Grade Time--on approach to curves and grades. OPTO- One Person Train Operation Stop. Trains using only a motorman will stop at this sign in stations. Resume Speed Sign- White "R" on green background. After a speed controlled block or an interlocking, a train with the corresponding length written underneath the "R" can resume prior full speed. (Usually comes in R-6, R-8 and R-10) Speed Limit Sign- black "MILES" on yellow sign. Number above miles indicates speed limit. Station Time (ST) sign: ST on yellow sign. Speed limit for Station Time. (see www.nycsubway.org article on timed signals, it's too technical for me to explain lol) Time Control Sign: Black "T" on yellow sign. Indicates the beginning of a time controlled section. This sign is usually followed by a GT or ST speed limit sign. I have combined all of these signs into one mega sign with BOTH editable text and editable backgrounds. After you place the new sign, you can change the texture and input the values. Those signs are still being tested. The link is for the old version of the signs, which includes three of each of the ones explained above. Any questions or suggestions are welcome! 15. Here's the next installment of the IRT Megaroute. It shows the going express from 72 St to 42 St, laying up, and then returning uptown to 72 St. There is accurate signal and sign placement from 50 St down to 28 St (though the train only goes to 42 in the video). I will build up to Harlem and do a video of the and the famous Manhattan Valley Viaduct -A
  16. @TTC: Yeah, you'll get flagged with a red ! in Content Manager and they won't show up in game. I am changing the rollsigns on the Redbirds and R62's to reflect the extension to Javits. I have to re-do the lot anyways to get the background color to match Magicland's originals. -A
  17. January 20, 2013 IRT Route Update: Signals have not been laid on the yet. I was testing the two-shot GTs Manhattan-bound from 5 Av to Grand Central (using triggers) and I've been thus far unsuccessful. This route will include the extension to Javits Center, as shown in the map. There will be an express video from 72 to 42 St, complete with accurate signals coming later on tonight/early tomorrow!!! -A
  18. Is who Ace? I am Ace from the Auran Trainz Forums, if you're asking. -A P.S. Signals have been installed from 79 St to 42 St on the line, as I'm testing the triggers for the GT and ST signals on my route. Expect a video within the next week or so, [Reading the diagrams for the 7 Av line is hell!]
  19. Thanks for the comments, guys. @Around the Horn: The column spacing is a symptom of the spline itself. Kitbashing my custom station items and other stuff from the DLS seemed to be the logical thing to do rather than create two separate custom stations, which would've taken a lot longer. The stations themselves can probably use some more scenery, but right now, I'm more worried about getting key corridors operational. I value your input though, and I'll definitely see what I can do about the spacing. I've got a long shift at work tomorrow, so perhaps over the weekend I'll try to get the Upper West Side completed, to at least Harlem, and connect to the rest of the in the Bronx. Next week's project will be the and the 207 Yard. -A
  20. After doing the West Side line the other day, I realized that the stations were not matching up with their East Side counterparts (the distances were off: 59 St/CC was where 68 St/Hunter College was, etc), so I decided to start that portion over, and do the logical thing: the 42 St shuttle. Below are some pics of the line (it's all completed, passenger enabled stations and signals and everything). You won't see the passenger enabled stations in these pics, but you will in the video below! I posted a video?!?!?! A rarity, but yes I did! Overhead of Grand Central (Lex line to the east, 7 Av to the west) Track 1 facing the tunnel to the downtown Lex local track Track 3 Track 1, Times Square-bound Overhead of Times Sq shuttle station, and adjacent 7 Av line station View of Track 4. In the distance is the connection to the IRT West Side uptown local Times Sq Shuttle station Station-Time signal outside of TSQ station (on Tk 4) Video will be coming later--it's uploading! Enjoy! -A
  21. That isn't possible with 4A. You need to use 4E and manually place the express tracks and then use the advanced tab when selecting your tracks to change the height.
  22. It's simple--just one track tunnels to the station splines. I'm not using the object stations right now. I use the tunnel part D and I to close the gaps. Remember, 1H, 1I and 1J tunnels can hide gaps as well. -A
