  1. In my experience l, we had the option to go to Staten Island Division, Queens Division or get pushed into KB (that was the only TWU option) everything else was closed until next system pick. So your chances of getting Bronx would be a good bet.
  2. That’s the starting rate? I thought that was the top pay.
  3. No. They just started showing up on buses. And I think they plan on retrofitting the fleet?
  4. I can attest to it being annoying. It blocks most of your view of passengers walking to the front door.
  5. A couple things I want to correct on this post. Lots of great info, However MTA Bus is mostly represented by TWU Local 100, except for JFk/FR which is represented by ATU. The TWU Local 100 depots of MTA Bus are CP, BP, LGA, East Chester and Yonkers. There is a system pick each year where you can move around depots. OA oprators can work out of Manhattan, Bronx and Brooklyn and are represented by TWU Local 100 Also a system pick annually. TA Operators can work out of any borough and are represented by TWU Local 100 in manhattan, bronx and brooklyn. There is a system pick also. If they choose Staten Island they are stuck in that borough for the entirety of their career and are represented by ATU, They can move around Staten Island . If they pick Queens borough they are stuck at their depot for career without a system pick and is represented by ATU 1056.
  6. That’s a good question. I was at CP and the OT was plentiful. I’ve been to KB, decent OT and now I’m at QV, OT is very scarce for a newbie at the depot.
  7. Did anyone here anything about the Q25 becoming Artic?
  8. Queens TA and MTAB is 40 for local buses. Where did you get 60 from?
  9. I for one do not like the idea. I think you have guys on this job 20/35 years and they are trained and programmed to those mirrors being there when they look. Now they change that for these cameras will definitely take some getting used to. On this job, seconds can mean someone’s life.
  10. If you’re hoping for Staten Island. It will almost be guaranteed. Tons of people get forced into Staten Island and are waiting to transfer out.
  11. So that’s good news. Do the training with mta bus and start working. Your probation time carries over. AVA, is Available Vacation allowance. If you work on a holiday you get paid 8 hours extra or you get to save it as a day off in the future. Yes I’m at TA now. But previously worked for MTA Bus. edit. Any questions, you can feel free to pm me.
  12. JFK is the worse of the depots to end up at. They are on a different pay scale than the other depots. I believe they start at $2 less than others. So please confirm that with them. You are also not able to save your holidays as AVA. Maybe I’ll see you on the Q8. I ride that line.
