But laptops have shorter lifespans and are easier to steal. I don't see the point in having laptops replace desktops unless they had to be moved often.

Eh, I don't think those things get stolen too often. I mean, it's hard to walk out with a laptop and not get noticed. I guess it's easier to store them and it also saves electricity.

Yep, let them keep on w/ that "girl power", "crabs in the barrel" nonsense if it makes them feel better for the here & now......

Yep... I be hear chicks say: "I don't need a man in my life. I should handle myself. F--- Relationships." Then when they see a guy they like, All that they said goes right out the window lol.... If the dude they try to go for turns them down, They go back to be a "femi-nazi" and each time that happens, it gets worse...

THIS^^^ This sums a lot of female behavior very much.. They don't get what they want, and then they turn nasty and hateful.. When I hear a girl say that she doesn't need a man in her life, I laugh b/c of what you said, AND b/c they know that they can't be single their whole life.. They're gonna need a man to marry and settle down w/eventually, unless they wanna become single at a very old age....

Exactly! Loads of females don't know what they want til they get older and by that time, They've already passed their prime.... That's why I laugh now when a chick says all guys are the same. Funny when they get mad at me when I say that they're ignorant and wrong and they proceed to keep yapping...

One thing I have learned about women in general (from ex's and family) is that they are really stubborn and persistent. They will do w/e they can to get what they want or to get their point across.. They always try to have the last word.. That's the problem....

Very true and in their eyes, we are wrong when we try to tell them that... * Nods head in disbelief * The part I bolded, Hence what I call the "female advantage"...

Oh yes indeed, I hate that.. When I'm in a relationship, I never let the girl try to influence me, no matter how hard they try, b/c at the end of the day, I do what I want, and I have been successful somehow.... Guess its b/c I don't date feminists or egotistical girls :)

That's good... Never let a female influence what they want you to do... There is a fine line between being a gentlemen and being a fool... Even if you wanted to date a "femi-nazi" broad, They would be to busy hating men to notice you lol.

Lol oh no I would never, I couldn't stand dating a girl who hates men, I would criticize her for dating me in the first place, as that is very hypocritical... And too bad every other guy in my school falls under the fool category... I love being different! :D

Just about any guy from any school falls into that catagory lol... I was always different school:

I was that type of guy in school who would keep to himself... I've never hanged with the "cool" crowd nor did I want too...

Had a few close friends who Ironically were mostly females... I tend to socialize better with females.

Was always the type of guy who was the most different in class. Not alot of people knew I love transit stuff...

Pretty good in history. I know this one chick I helped in history... I was always the highest grade in that history class... After my tutoring that chick started to come in second in that class... I got a kiss as a reward for helping her... She didn't use the "female advantage" on me. She asked me for help which is what I respected from her...

My choice of music is always different than most... I love the oldies. :)

Its cool to be different :) I'm very well known and popular in my school but because of my outgoing personality and b/c I stand out..

BUT I'm not like the guys at all, I socialize w/everyone and I don't play sports like they all do (ppl assume that I'm gay b/c I don't play sports which is absurd)...

I have the best clothing style in my school lol... while they all wear Hollister, American Eagle, etc.. im wearing a mix of urban and streetwear :D

I stand out for being different, I suppose..

The whole school knows about my transit hobby, and I am often complimented on my passion for trains and buses, ppl even ask me what is the quickest way to get somewhere by train/bus (especially hot girls) , which is cool... :D

I'm a big fan of Cars (not the movie), like if you met me and you pointed a random car to me, 100% chance I would guess the right make/model and year it came out (or close to it)...

Music, I love hiphop, rap, R&B and latino lol, half mainstream, half individualized...

Just goes to show one can be different from the crowd in many different ways.. :D

To be honest, I'm not that great in sports but Baseball, I love baseball! I was the only one during P.E class that would actually know how to play 100%... Had some chicks almost rip my head off a few times because they don't how to swing properly... ( I like playing catcher but I can play any position... That's what she said lol)

When I play the pitcher postition, I didn't just throw... I threw fastballs, Curveball, 12-6 curve, Change-up... the kids start bitching saying I wasn't pitching correctly when in reality, They chouldn't hit even if their lives depended on it... So after a while, I just threw fastballs but every now and then, I threw another type of pitch...

To be honest... I wasn't open about my transit hobby in my H.S... Only a few people knew. Now I'm very open about it... I get people asking me for directions too...

I was always the properly dressed guy in school... Never really wore what the other guy wear. I had my own style...

I love cars too! I loved them since I loved transit... I was young when I started to get into transit... You've should have seen when I was young when the first time I rode on a R142 lol...

We're kind of alike! lol :D

I suck at all kinds of sports... except Kickball!!! ahh I had a mean kicking leg, but I injured it back in May, and its not even 30% back to normal, it hurts even to run (I fell 20 feet off a pole ; don't ask lol and I broke my wrist and I bruised/sprained something in my leg)...

Oooh my bestfriend is a pitcher for our school's baseball team and ppl always bitch at him, but he keeps the other time from scoring, so he's doing something right lol...

I'm a very open person, so going into H.S. I knew that I would let ppl know about my transit hobby, I didn't think that it would be a big deal and I wanted to stand out.. In Freshman year, ppl thought it was weird, but in Sophomore Year, my passion came out more to everyone (I recreated the Manhattan bus map in a drawing and won an art contest in my school for it) and they gained respect for me.. :D

I love having my own style.. It also makes me feel cool knowing that I don't have to spend 200+ dollars on sneakers but I can still look cool...

When I'm with my friends, I can name any car, train car or bus (whether we are on the N train, around Astoria or Manhattan or at Jamaica Center) and they would all be confused.. Its rather amusing

My aunt also recently told me that when I was 3, I would tell her where all the Manhattan bus routes went and what streets they run on.. That's pretty cool! :P considering it was at 3 years old lol....

Ouch... Reminds me of this one injury I had while playing ultimate frisbee in P.E, I was near the goal, One dude on my team over-threw the frisbee so I jumped for it while running... I caught the frisbee but I hit knee first into the wall... I used to play ultimate frisbee.. until I took a wall in the knee... (yes I love playing Skyrim) It swelled up for a few days...

Another injury I had was during Baseball... I hit the ball and I was running to first. ( during P.E, We only played inside the gym... <_< )

I made it but couldn't stop on time and rip part of my skin off the top of my right hand with the window's lock...I still have the scar today but It's not visible much at all now....

I wasn't open about it because kids in my H.S were immature about that kind of thing... The only who knew were my close friends. Now when people ask me about it, I right away tell them... People would always wonder why I wouldn't cringe over loud noises like train brakes that would squeal (like the R32's brakes), trains passing over elevated structures and when trains make tight turns...

I personally wouldn't spend past $50 dollars for shoes... I know chicks would actually be impressed when they test my knowledge of transit...

Oh by the way: Ran out of likes again...

Double Ouch.. One time I was on the treadmill in my school's gym, and one of my friends put the speed from 2 to 10 (-________-) and I fell off it and flew into the wall (I saw the video on facebook, and I can't lie, it was funny) but most of the skin on my right knee came off, I still have the scar today...

People in my school are really immature as well, but I am respected in my school (holding my own after being bullied for a bit, for being real, helping others out, class clown, etc. lol), so it wasn't a problem, although there is an occasional joke, but its just a joke..

For sneakers, I'm in to Vans, Converses (I love Chuck Taylor's!) and Supra, with an occasional Nike shoe... Never spent more than 110$ on a pair of sneakers in my 17 years...

If only girls that I knew were more intelligent about transit (some just need more intelligence in general  ) to accurately test it out but they always take my word for it :)

Oh the treadmill.... I once was on the treadmill at the gym for 30 mins straight... Once I shut the machine off, My legs didn't want to stop.... It was stuck on jog... I had to sit on a stool and hook my legs to the stool's legs... It was about an hour later when I was able to walk normally...

I don't really care about the brands on sneakers... Name brand or no name brand, If it's comfortable and under $50 dollars, I'll buy them...

I was known as the "smart and quiet guy" because of this, chicks always asked me different stuff like "Are you was always like that?", "Why are you so nice?" or "Why are you too quiet?"... I've always said: "It's the way I am".

The way girls or anyone would test me: They would look for a random photo of a bus or train and give me that "You don't know this" look... I would give them that" Are you serious?" look... then proceed to answer correctly... Then they give me that "how did you know that?" look...

Oh damn :o I haven't run on a treadmill since the incident, which was during Freshman Year (October 2010)

and don't plan on running on one anytime soon...

About the sneakers, i feel you... You are a bit older than me (not by much tho) and I've been told that as you get older, brands don't matter that much, and it becomes more about comfort vs. style and also affordability..

I'm like you, well minus the quiet part... Lmao! I'm the voice that you would always hear, whether during a fight, in the school hallway, wherever.. (not in an annoying way, just like you know that I'm there type of way)

My friend and I were walking around Springfield Gardens on Sunday, and he kept pointing to cars and asking me "What car is this?" and then I answered and then he would look for the name to see if I was wrong, then he would get mad that I got it right

We made a bet, if he found a car that I didn't know the name at any point in that day (between noon and 11pm, when I ended up going home) I would have to give him $20, if I knew the name of every car by the end of that day, I would win the $20.. I won the $20 and named probably over 300 cars correctly :D

It's true about the sneakers... I stopped caring about brands since I was 13 though... At the end of the day, I'd rather have my feet comfortable than being in pain but in style...

I have a loud voice too lol... What I mean by quiet is that I don't talk to people I don't know well...

That's pretty cool! :)

Another reason why I don't buy the $200+ Nike's/Jordan's, most of them are made out of crap materials and fit horridly.. My style is simple, stylish and comfortable.. As long as you can match it with your outfit and it doesn't make your feet hurt, you are set!

I'm not much of a sneakerfan, I love clothes and snapbacks tho! :)

Oh that type of quiet! I am actually really shy around ppl that I don't know well either, online and offline.. I barely posted on this forum when I first joined, but now I opened up and glad I did or I wouldn't have had some of the very interesting conversations (like this one) that I have on this forum :D

and thanks! :)

What's funny about that is, while males don't get NEAR as much credit/acknowledgment for being family oriented, it's females who are judged a lot harsher if they don't have a mate by a certain age...... Let me put it in retrospect:

A man who doesn't have a s/o or wife by like 40, at worst, is called a loser....

A woman who doesn't have a s/o or husband by like 40, at worst, is considered to be worthless.....

(menopause is a mothaphucka.... how many dudes you know of that are in a RUSH to have children)

I have to say, this child support hustle culture is quite sickening.... It's quite sad when you have women out here that WANT to be single mothers - and it's not just hood chicks on that tip either !

1.) Exactly what I said! :D

2.) I see, they are judged a lot more and I'm not surprised.. Funny a lot of guys do want to have a family and such as well

3.) Oh yes! I kind of learned this the hard way, but I'm only 17, so its good to learn while I'm young...

4.) I see that too, a lot of them are easy to manipulate for the simplest thing (whether its for a few $$, or if I wanna trade a hat, or something like that; I can easily influence them, and I'm a guy! I wonder how it would bad it would be with a girl!). With the women who want to be single mothers, some just want money that they are gonna use on themselves, rather selfish and sickening ain't it?

Hmm.... Well me, I'm good at playing all 4 of the major sports.... of course, I was the only black kid that knew how to ice skate out of my little circle of friends/acquaintances... hockey was probably my weakest sport b/c I didn't play all that much... would've liked to have become better at it though....

baseball I find to be quite easy..... I would play the outfield and loved diving for flyballs (back when Jim Edmonds was doin the damn thing.... lol).... I was a fastball/curve ball hitter.... change-ups would give me problems though...... always had good hand-eye coordination & quick reflexes..... my problem with playing baseball is, I would lose interest after a while.... the other 3 sports were much more fun to me.....

basketball, on most days, you didn't want to leave me open... I was a set shooter, and would heat up rather quickly (but when I was cold, I admit, I stunk).... I liked playing the shooting guard position, but since I was one of the tallest of the bunch, I would always be thrown at center - guarding some fat bastard that used his weight (and his stench) to gain inside position..... I was never much of a dribbler though.... I remember playing a couple games of "utah", where I did not miss one shot; including the "key" shot & the final shot.......

football was my isht..... on offense, I'd play WR (while I wasn't a speed guy, I was a "hands" guy; a possession reciever) & on defense, I would play safety (or using slang, I'd "play the field" - lazy right !)... I was hard to get around (esp. playing 2 hand touch or 3 sec. hold) b/c I have a long wingspan.... Sometimes I'd play QB, which was also fun..... fact of the matter is, I never got bored playing football....

I'll get to the part of your post I didn't address, a little later.....

Good to have a discussion with like minded people....
