NJTransitFan Posted May 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 8, 2007 Has any of you guys rode the NJ Transit lately? Post which branch and your thought on it.
Harry Posted May 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 8, 2007 The last time I rode NJ Transit was in 2004 on the Raritan Valley line. It was actually a pretty nice line to ride. It's mixed with some freight lines and the Northeast corridor out of Newark Penn station heading south west toward Dunellen. It was cool seeing the Acela's coming in and out of Penn station also. I'm planning on taking a ride to DC on the Acela. I'm looking forward to it.

NJTransitFan Posted June 15, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted June 15, 2007 Do you mean you have two choices of public transportation? If so, what's your first?
Pablo M 201 Posted June 15, 2007 Share #8 Posted June 15, 2007 My first is taking the bus. Red & Tan in Hudson County in particular. Buses stop right at my corner. But most of the time, I take the walk to take HBLR. My home station is Liberty State Park.

Harry Posted June 15, 2007 Share #11 Posted June 15, 2007 I went to the Liberty Science Center two years ago and remember reading something about an old railroad station or yard near the Center. I was wondering if you know anything about it? When driving to the center I was actually looking around to see if I can spot it somewhere.

Harry Posted June 15, 2007 Share #14 Posted June 15, 2007 So that's what it was. Cool thanks for posting the pics. I didn't have much time when I was around there to look around. Any old locomotives besides the baggage and box cars in the photo?

NewJerseyT Posted June 23, 2007 Share #17 Posted June 23, 2007 I rode on the NJCL all my life, and I do have to say that it is a quite decent line. As a I used to ride it pretty much monthly.
Canarsie143 Posted June 26, 2007 Share #18 Posted June 26, 2007 Every once in a while I am up and down the NJ Coastline from NYP to PTH AMB. It's an ok ride I guess but I like the bus too. Only reason why I'll take the train now is if the 116 via turnpike is backed up.
Eric Kreszl Posted August 17, 2007 Share #19 Posted August 17, 2007 Hey Guys, I rode the NJCL the other day up to Hoboken. I have always loved the NJCL as I live right by it. One of the Senic aspects of the NJCL is of course the numerous water crossings. Once you live the boro's and the various towns you can see the senic beauty that is the Jersey shore especially south of Red Bank and down to Bay Head. Jamaica Express Posted August 17, 2007 Share #20 Posted August 17, 2007 Last week I rode the 5:16 Trenton "Super Express" to Princeton Junction, those new Mult-Level cars ride pretty well In addition to that I ride the M & E lines to South Orange alot and the Raritan Valley Line to Union, because I have family and friends in those areas I visit frequently I also use the HBLR Between 45th St and Exchange Place at least 3 times a month
PATCOman Posted August 17, 2007 Share #21 Posted August 17, 2007 I rode the bi-levels on a super express back in January. They ride very good. Last Friday, I rode a Comet V on a super express to Trenton, and a Arrow III on the way back. The Coment V is all right (I like them more than the LIRR M7s, I like the Arrow IIIs too cause they have fast accelleration.)
Jamaica Express Posted August 17, 2007 Share #22 Posted August 17, 2007 The Comet V's are nice, its just that they're plagued with electronic problems, they don't do very well in mixed consist. I like MU's,but im a sucker for push-pulls..lol
