Now I don't listen to the EMS frequencies on my scanner but I can't believe the mixups that goes on over the NYPD channels. Ex: the dispatcher over the radio was giving a description of a getaway vehicle involved in a robbery, instead of reading it as a blue Chevy Tahoe, she said it as a blue Chevy Taco...:confused:they mixup addresses, mispronounce streets and avenues on a daily basis. Where do they find these people?

Joe Posted February 20, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 20, 2010 EOE laws. You gotta love it when the people who can't speak clearly or have hearing disabilities are dispatchers. I know of a mute that went through the PD academy. I can't imagine what radio training was like for him...

Grand Concourse Posted February 26, 2010 Share #15 Posted February 26, 2010 It's illegal to deny employment based on disability. Political correctness at it's worst... Allow someone that clearly isn't qualified for the job at the expense of possibly a person's safety. I just hope the victim was a lawyer responsible for such a law. DarrylR.14 Posted February 26, 2010 Share #16 Posted February 26, 2010 It would only be better if they change all the street names that is used more than once. That can be confusing if there are two streets that have the same name in the same city.
