I wonder if the CR got in trouble for that. i'm sure every conductor accidentally went through holding lights. also, holding lights can serve as starting lights when trains are put in service @ gap stations. If a train is running hot (early) it will be held to keep it on time. Sometimes they are used to hold train if there is a delay ahead of them.
