jacsnyy 1 Posted July 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2010 During my trips downtown the past few days, I've seen a handful of Grand Avenue labeled RTS's on the B54 route. Are these transfers to Fresh Pond or does Grand Avenue have some runs on this route now?

bknightshadow45 33 Posted July 18, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2010 I also noticed many Fresh Pond routes such as the (B26), (B38), and the (B52) had Grand Avenue depot stickers. All of the buses were in the 895x series that had the stickers.

They just want to get rid of the Cummins' sooner?

T J Trainman 804 Posted July 18, 2010 Share #8 Posted July 18, 2010 The Q-54 is an all FP route. However, Is the B-54 still an all FP route as well?
Calvin 2,969 Posted July 18, 2010 Share #9 Posted July 18, 2010 Grand Av is a dumpyard. It got lowest number of RTS and Hybrids. B47 is gettin really packed bcause of less buses in tat depot and its about 80 mins (whole route). Most routes take about 30 or 60.

If any route is overcrowded it is a reflection of the schedules, not of the depot. All the depot does is supply the number of buses needed as per the schedules, which are made up "downtown". "Downtown" supplies sufficient buses to each depot to make service.

The 94xx's & the 95xx's are some of the youngest RTSs on the road, plus they got a piece on the NG pie, and those are about 1 year old. Adding to the fact that they have 4701 & 4702 which is only a few months old makes the fleet age there really young. The B47 was always packed, even when it was at Flatbush

None of those garages have a local bus built after 1999 (although Eastchester has a small local fleet). And Ulmer Park has the fourth-busiest route in the city in the B6 (before the service cuts, I know that it had at least 101 runs on weekdays). The newest buses at each of those three for local service: ECH: 9328 (1997) UP: 5136 (1999) CP: 9931 (1999)
