A fun late afternoon on the Sea Beach

... I had back on June 15th, 2007 at around 7pm.

Still-in-use incandescent lighting at the stations, the open cut construction, lots of slants and a couple of brand-new R160's in service on the (N) made this trip very interesting. Want to join me for a ride on the Sea Beach? :D

A slanted railfan view, after leaving Stillwell Ave, heading north:

At Avenue U:

that's the kind of station lighting I like to see:

An (R) train heading for CI yard?

Yet another set of R160's:

Diamond (N) service?

looove the slants:

Let's say Avenue U could need some re-painting... (the first picture is a bit brighter on the bottom not because I obstructed the lens with my finger; but because of the sunlight falling into the open cut)

The lighting is even more interesting at Kings Hwy:

New rails waiting for construction at Bay Pkwy:

My first ride on a brand-new R160 included an interesting video informing riders about the advantages of the new R160. I don't know how long MTA used that video but I've never seen it around on any websites:

(it featured a lot more different screens, if you're interested I can upload them all)

Well, technically not the Sea Beach anymore, but I simply loved this Downtown Manhattan sundown view as seen from Manhattan Bridge:

Next to follow in my picture series: Fun at Coney Island/Stillwell Ave & West 8th St! :)
