LRG Posted January 4, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 4, 2011 Enablers are buttons installed in the A-cars which the motorman presses so the conductor can be able to open the door on the correct side of the train. The uses the (B)'s equipment from time to time, as ( R68/R68A equipment is stored at Concourse during non-rush hours.
bveguy Posted January 4, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 4, 2011 The T/O has to press the button for which side the doors open up. If the C/R's side matches with the button the T/O presses, the doors open up. If it doesn't match, the doors don't open.

INDman Posted January 4, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2011 An R68 on the is normal and will happen from time to time. Enablers are the biggest BS thing the TA has done in a while, just another way to make the T/O take on more responsiblity. They have also started to install them on R46s which had alot of trouble last time they tried to install them.
Roadcruiser1 Posted January 4, 2011 Share #6 Posted January 4, 2011 I know that. I saw a set like that today running on the West End Elevated. I was like what the hell, but now I get why.
