pghzib Posted January 13, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 13, 2011 Hi, I am from the Pittsburg and I am very interested and curious about high speed trains in the USA. Can amtrak run now 120 mph average? I gues it can, let us discuss problems and solutions, and even have it! sincerely, zib
TheKorean Posted January 14, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2011 Well, the Acela can run 150 mph near Kingston RI. But thats it. It might go 110 mph here and there. But otherwise no.

KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted January 22, 2011 Share #7 Posted January 22, 2011 Welcome to the joint.....As for high speed I understand and witnes that Acela in on the Kingston stretch goes in the 150plus and due to MNRR Rules about 70 on their stretches thats Stamford to the New haven line cut off around New Rochelle .....After Newark it hits about 115plus in that ballpark but the Maryland stretch is the real treat but all in all A Great treat for any High Speed RailRoad fan
