Well I will show ya a vid I am not lying about what I saw you don't have to believe the truth it hurts deal with it. Again I was personally ON THE N6X NUFF SAID. My eyes can't possibly be wrong. This is why I block some ppl here. Too much disrespect disagree but don't attack ones character. I started retaliating silently. Not gonna argue here just stating reality. N6 ltd in my opinion should have only lost 1 stop which was elmont rd. Just stating what I saw which was real so end of discussion next.

You don't think your eyes are wrong because your brain thinks you're right.

Actually all n6x turned around near 165th St Terminal.

NICE B/O has escorted us to terminal but not into terminal.

Interesting yuki you also have a point about belmont Racetrack that would be an excellent stop addition.

Keep your crap off this forum. All they do is create arguments and you can clearly see that. Notice how all the crap revolves around you! Not me, you! Edited by Brett

I can't email Veolia for some reason, I have FF 3.6 (anything above is broken and will crash on my laptop) and NoScript but allowed the site to go through. The n16x is indeed faster than the standard N16 but they should time them differently, have them come maybe about 10-20 minutes after the last class period. They came by every day at 2:16 PM in the spring - on Monday/Wednesday/Friday there was a class session that had just started (2:00 PM) and on Tuesdays and Thursdays a class had just gotten out, so they'd be empty either way. It was hard to get to the bus stop on time especially if students were near the older part of campus.

Only problem with n6x does not connect with n25 at Franklin Sq.

True that is a minor problem but yeah that stop can work due to lights anyway

If you are dumb enough to let something so small create an argument and piss you off then that is just sad beyond pathetic. No comment. Not putting more fuel to the fire. Just sayin Edited by qjtransitmaster

Does NICE have access to that class information?

You'd think they would, considering they'll be at the NCC orientation next week. I'd love to pop in but with all this crazy college stuff of my own (if I do get accepted into the school I'm looking at, it's on the north shore and it's tough getting there without a car) it'd be hard. That's why I've been meaning to email them.

It's posted online, I can't provide a link to the search results because it will just say the results aren't found..

1) Follow https://banner.ncc.e...u?name=homepage

2) Click "Class Schedule"

3) In the drop down menu under Search By Term select Fall 2012

4)Don't touch any of the search fields just click the button at the bottom of the page that says Class Search

5) there ya go, all of the NCC Spring Courses with the days the class meets and class times... Srping 2013's schedule is also available online.

Fall is even worse because all the new students who just got their licenses will get lost in Nassau's lots and block traffic. On top of that, their driving ability is **** and they'll just cut in front of buses when they're only six feet away.

I've seen many students at NCC almost cause accidents in the campus. Roll through a stop sign while on the phone, etc. And in the morning why do so many people STOP to drop people off ion the right lane across from the parking lot? It's a lane of traffic not drop your child, freind, b/f g/f off zone. Do it in the the parking lot. If you do drop someone off their, why would you open your door in traffic without looking? I'm surprised a bus hasn't take off a door yet. AND if you are crossing the street from the lot across 4 lanes of traffic, LOOK before you dart into traffic? Look at a bus VS a car, what do you think ity will do to a person? Yes, traffic must yeild to pedestrains BUT the law says vehicles must yeild to pedestrains in the crosswalk. This means you wait at the begining of the crosswalk and traffic must yeild to you. You cannot just run into traffic out of nowhere, or walk into traffic with your earbuds in while you look at your phone.

I've seen many follow buses into the "restricted area" with gate only for "offical vehicles"... BTW what is the system for getting the gate up? There must be a signal on the bus to have the gate raise? Or is it that security would be watching a monitor an raise the gate when a bus came in? Either way it never worked when I rode the bus during the LIB days the process was to beep until the gate raised.ol

If I recall, Public Safety opens the gates. Since they moved from behind the old Operations Building (Student Union) to a new building near C. Lindbergh Boulevard, the gates open later than they should. Most d-bags just follow buses behind the gates when they open up because they're otherwise closed. Only NCC Public Safety and staff (not faculty) and the President know the code to open the gates themselves. During the decline in late 2011 I actually had to call Public Safety to open the gates... they're better off leaving them open. Maybe that bro in the Infiniti G3x can wrap his car around a pole and that'd show everyone.

I can't tell you how many times a bus operator would let a crowd of 20-30 students getting to their cars and release the air only for some idiot on his crackberry and blasting horrid dubstep from his iPod to cut us off, while the bus was in motion. And I always hated people bitching that they couldn't park closer to the NCC sign near the circle - that might have been valid before 2011 but I remember in the fall of 2010 they flattened some more land and managed to get more spots in that somehow remain hidden. Even then it's only a 5-10 minute walk to campus... if they had to get to the back of campus, they should have left earlier.

I was an idiot back when I first entered NCC and graduated a more mature person. What I would have given, though, to be the idiot not on his cell phone at a stop sign or light and letting a bus full of students go ahead of me. The three years I've spent riding these Orions has taught me so much.

you need to get out more cause I experienced it first hand 2 months after N6x it just plain works ppl got used to it to the point where even every 10 mins is perfect. Sorry but the expresses are no longer as empty as they were when they first started I will not argue further with you cause experience doesn't lie I saw them back to back CRUSHED. There is nothing that can stip it once a change becomes successful it will not be reversed. N6X if were to be less frequent then ppl would be face to glass those 2 stops work. If N6L was not crushed it will truely never return frankly nothing is wrong with the current N6x & local setup now NICE fixed most of the early problems just extend all N6x trips to 165th then change routing to reach mecham faster then thats it. More locals can be added or artics or any higher capacity bus on N6 locals at rush hour can help.

I see the N6X much more frequently than you do, they are not crushed, more seats are used now, but they are not crushed and are rarely SRO. If they are SRO it's because the N6 is always bunching. Sometimes crushed buses from Jamaica are caused by (F) bunching or even worse, N6 AND (F) bunching!

The locals are generally crushed all day, even moreso since June when they reduced off peak and sat frequencies to 12 mins.

You mean n6x, not n6L?

Yep I meant the N6X

  • 2 weeks later...

Why are the B400Rs in the NGs so loud if the bus is going above 30 MPH? Every damn time the B/O lets off the accelerator up north, the gear whine overwhelms my ears. And yet people are idiotic enough to try to talk on their phones over it.

In the Vs, if they go above 30 MPH, somehow it accelerates more smoothly when it hits the last gear.

I want there to be an earlier NJ Transit train out of Penn Station because there is a job I had my eye on, but it starts too early. I want Amtrak to run an earlier train out to EWR so I can take an earlier cheaper flight.... Some things aren't in the cards, that's life.

What does that have to do with NICE?

Speaking of which, I'm glad they're just that bit more assertive with the Orions, even the 12+ year old Vs that on a good day, you actually get someplace on time, but with the people who got their licenses here by turning the goddamned key driving like they're in the F&F and all the horribly timed lights you just get stuck more quickly.

There was one lady who helped me get on n80 Hicksville b/c she was also going on same bus at Hempstead Tnpk/Hicksville Rd,

She want n80 to start every 30 minutes at 5:30am b/c her job at Dunkin Dobut is 6am.

What does that have to do with NICE?

It has nothing to do with NICE and that's my point. I hear people complaining all the time that they wish the train schedule was better to to fit their schedule, boo hoo NICE sucks because they don't get me to work for the early morning shift that I picked up at Dunkin Donuts, the NXX runs hourly and gets me to work 30 minutes before. It's a transit system meant to fit the needs of the masses not a car service getting you to school or work at a time that best works for you and is not sitting there when you leave to take you straight home.

No agency is going to lose money running an empty bus or train to get this lady to Dunkin Donuts or me to Newark to get a cheap flight. I'm sick of hearing people complain how horrible NICE id because it doesn't fit their schedule to a T. It's not NICE or any other agency, that is life when you use PUBLIC transportation, it's not about one persons needs.
