Eric B Posted July 23, 2012 Share #115 Posted July 23, 2012 This thread isn't just for routing is it? Here's one about fleet. If had gotten the 50 Flxibles, they would still be running, and would have been forwarded to LGA and BP instead of the Bee-Lines. (Which may well have not been bought). Being oddballs in the fleet, they probably would have been sent over there years ago, already; like maybe right after the takeover (in contrast to real life, when other buses from the same year have yet to be sent to MTAB). Would figure so much, being Triboro and JBL were the last holdouts of the Grummans. So those last 50 Metros would have been right at home!

Gorgor Posted July 25, 2012 Author Share #125 Posted July 25, 2012 In an emergency, the Brooklyn Bridge can be used for this, not for constant service. Weight restrictions can be broken, and are broken all the time when the downtown QM buses illegally use the FDR Drive overpass by 23rd Street. Technically it's an 8000 pound limit and they should use Avenue C and enter at 20th Street. Back before the X90 had MCI's there would be times (very rare) that the driver would save us tons of time by continuing up the FDR and taking the 42nd Street exit rather than the 20th Street exit like we should've. But height restrictions cannot be broken, for obvious reasons. The height limit on the Brooklyn Bridge is 11 feet, and I forget exactly, but I believe that an MCI is a little over 11 feet.
