Subway Car Assignments as of August 2008

I hope this is accurate. I have researched the subway car types, and have looked at your threads to help make this list as accurate as possible. Here are the types that are assigned to the subway lines

 

(1) R62A entirely

(2) R142 entirely

(3) R62 and R62A

(4)<4> R142, R142A with occasional appearance of R62 and R62A

(5)<5> R142 entirely

(6)<6> R142A entirely

(7)<7> R62A.

(S) 42nd Street Shuttle uses R62A cars.

 

(A) R32, R38,R40M, R42 and R44 cars

(:( R40S, R40M, R68 and R68A

(C) R32 and R38

(D) R68

(E) R32 and R46

(F) R32 and R46

(G) R46 entirely

(J) R42, and eventually R160A

(L) R143 and R160A

(M) R160A

(N) R160A R160B, R68 and R68A

(Q) R68, R68A, R160B

(R) R46 with some R32

(S) Franklin Avenue Shuttle uses R68

(S) Rockaway Shuttle uses R44

the (Q) has one R160A sometimes. the (N) & (Q) share it for days.

no there's still slants

 

I just checked pics from the (:) and you are right they are still there as well as the other cars.

 

I wonder how long those (B) slants will be there since it was said that the slants will be gone.

 

Things will get more interesting with car swaps as more R160 come in.

As most people are saying these days, there's no longer any R42's running on the (M). It's all R160A cars. :P R160A is now hitting the (J) line too.

 

This month alone the (J) and (Q) lines have the sharpest increase of R160A and R160B cars. The (Q) and (J) have about four or five sets each running on each line, the (Q) may have more, just seen as much as 8 sets, and highest numbered R160B on (Q) was 9022. Highest numbered R160A for (J) was 8512.
