Q3 Destination Sign On NOVA LFS

SubBus

Recommended Posts

I noticed that there are two different destination readings for the Q3 on the Nova LFS

Destination reading #1 is the regular destination you'll see on the RTS and NGs:

JAMAICA

165 ST TERM followed by

179 ST STATION

Destination reading #2:

JAMAICA which fills out destination sign in huge letters, followed by,

179 ST STATION

165 ST TERMINAL together on the destination sign

Has anyone else seen this?

5030 reads Q3 165 ST TERM, Q3 Jamaica/179 st sta (On RTS, NG and LFS with Update #2)

on LFS with Update #1 it reads Q3 JAMAICA, Q3 179 ST STA/165 ST TERM

not sure what it reads on original LFS sign, some buses still out there with small Q...

Q3 mentions 179 st sta becuase its the only airport bus in Jamaica with subway connection (F). 179th st is probably only mentioned because it is a terminal, connection to Q3 can be made at 169 as well...which is probably why R160 (F) trains dont display Q3 at 169th St too.

Update #2

Thanks for the picture displays, R44CNG. I also saw update#2 on the LFS that operates on the Q3 as well.....

Yep..... It's supposed to be a way to show airport riders that the bus does serve a subway station....

The inconsistency with the MTA with this is that, there is no such equivalent sign for the Q10, for example...

(of course, what's not told in the Q3 signage is how long you have to endure the lagging just to get to hillside av itself - never mind riding a little further west at hillside/179th st (F):D )....
