Props on the thread title alone!

I have to stop sleeping on the picture sections on this forum..... This may sound petty, but the one thing I do like about the "pumpkin" NICE buses (not those old raggedy ass LIB's)  is the "font" they use on the front/main destination sign..... Although it looks awkward at times, The 'n' is another thing I'll give them props on - Every other transit system I know of uses capital letter prefixes, or just the route # with no prefix at all.....

As for #1549 there... Why the front look so clean, but the back look dirty as s#&t.....

I think they use a lowercase n to minimize the prefix because it's the number that is most important in the NICE system.

-The NICE "paint" scheme is different enough to recognize the buses in Queens.

-In Nassau the letter isn't important.

-Prefix use in other bus systems are for a different reason (than county's first initial, most likely)

The letter prefix was important enough for them to make it lowercase, as opposed to leave it uppercase, or drop it altogether....

They're using the lowercase N to be different/to stand out.... It works for them, so good for them....
