It's good for the (D) to get some payback from last weekend.

-No (C) train service

-Trains run in two sections - Queens to Jay Street, and Jay Street to 207th

-Trains to 207th run local all the way

-Trains to Queens run express to 125th, then CPW local

Too bad I won't be traveling over the weekend to catch this.

Anyone care to enlighten as to why they have a train run in two sections?

anytime they have the Downtown (D) train run on the (A)(C) lines between 145 St and West 4 St, it has to run into two sections because there is no track switch to make the (D) operate from the 8 Ave line back to the 6 Ave line @ West 4 St. if they wanted to make the (D) go to Coney Island via the (A)(C) lines, it'll have to run on the (F) line either south of West 4 St, or south of Jay St. so instead of making the (D) run on the (F) line, it'll run normal from 205 St to 145 St, local from 145 St to 59 St, then on the (A)(C) lines from 59 St to West 4 St, then on the (F) line to 2 Ave. Customers who need (D) West End Line service must transfer to another (D) train at Broadway-Lafayette St.

(D) trains will run local in both directions above West 4 St.

(On the other hand, if uptown (D) trains were running on the (A)(C) lines, then it can operate from Coney Island to 205 St without running into 2 sections because it has a switch on the uptown side of the 6 Av Line that'll cross onto the 8 Ave line.)

Corrections The (D) is only running local downtown from 145th to W 4th Street but uptown will stop at 14th Street and 23rd Street on the (F) and then it runs it's normal express way
