  1. Why is everyone so excited about the R188s? Besides the CBTC stuff, they're virtually identical to the R142As...

      any change to break the monotony of the same car assignments year after year is a welcome change when the MTA mixes it up a bit. Granted the R62As arent as bad as say the falling apart 32s and 42s, I say its time the (7) gets some nice cars for a change.

      @ ttcsubwayfan, LOL...It seems like the "proper" railfans are considered to be the ones who love the old "real" trains...New train lovers are often (sadly) labelled as foamers.

      @lilbluefoxie: I understand why the 188s are necessary, but the 62As really aren't that bad, and I doubt most members of the public would notice the difference anyway.

       

      @TheSubwayStation: There are foamers who foam over old trains and those who foam over new trains. I like and dislike certain classes of both. But it seems that a lot of railfans are excited about cars which are basically self-driving R142As...
