  1. Stengel uses the 40-footers on the Q12 all the time. There are days where there would be more 40-footers than 60-footers on the route.
  2. Those 4 are there to fill in for the 4 XD60s they sent to LaGuardia for the summer. As for the other, the SBS scheme is being phased out slowly on the Stengel units.
  3. 5813 and the aforementioned 5821 are back at Tuskegee. 1215-16, and 1254 are back at KB.
  4. IIRC, Kingsbridge has a charger for the electric units so the Quill units sometimes come up for a recharge. Could be off the mark though.
  5. So that’s another unit that was reported to be scrap only for that to not be the case. It weird how often this has been happening on with posts on these forums.
  6. I believe the M60 SBS is also on the list to have their units retrofitted with bike racks some time in the future.
  7. It hasn't had one for over a year, but it did have it before.
  8. Just checked the EXFI of the photos on Flickr and the time the photos were taken was around 10 AM at Eastchester. In some shots, you can see the other coaches pending scrap there. The newscast in the link provided does end on the note that the bus is repairable. Whether or not the MTA will bother doing the repair is another question.
  9. Whoops, I definitely pressed the wrong keys. Well, can’t change that now.
  10. 5288 back at Kingsbridge. Also, for future reference regarding the now edited post above, 7853-7865 were sent to Fresh Pond months ago.
  11. I was surprised too. With how the buses ended up at the scene, it looked like it rear ended rather than t-boning. The articles did make it clear from the start it hit the bus on the side and the images released later made it more apparent.
  12. Update from the crash: 71 people were injured, with 36 needing hospitalization. The number has fluctuated throughout the night, so the final number may change. More importantly, it seems that the injuries were not life threatening. The article does mention that some passengers from the tourist bus had to be removed from the windows. As for how the incident occurred, the double decker ran past a red light at 1st Avenue & East 23rd Street, rear ending MTA Bus 2481 in the process. The Prevost suffered multiple broken windows on the right of the unit (The ones on the left were intact) but otherwise the unit didn't receive heavy damage. The double decker did see significant damage on the front of the unit. For now the driver of the tourist bus will receive a summons. https://abc7ny.com/bus-crash-manhattan-buses-collide-tour/13470603/?fbclid=IwAR2SBjkkfA5N__y1MpKxSYHAhcL8ZXZ7Q9_0we0ikDhKzKcJMRAy6GE_078 https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/manhattan-double-bus-crash-sends-18-to-hospital-fdny-says/4484072/?fbclid=IwAR28XN4jOgBF_raeQt-gDw1K3PhfTGz4FDbdJ93S5rSniUxe1Mcy5ozanV8
  13. Buses don't go through a repaint as soon as it already got one. 8336 already had the new paint applied, in the summer of last year, by the time the swap with Gun Hill occured like @xD4nn said. This is just a case of seeing a bus that has been kept clean.
  14. I don't think its necessary to keep posting the Tuskegee loans every time they happen. I'd be better to get confirmation on which ones are actual moves.
  15. https://bronx.news12.com/police-12-injured-in-bus-car-crash-on-cross-bronx-expressway It happened on the Cross Bronx with a car crashing onto the Queens-bound Q44. 12 passengers were injured, but no further reports on their conditions. As for the bus: the front of XD60 6014 was heavily damaged, with the side of the unit receiving some damage.
  16. The buses mentioned yesterday are back on the road on Tuskegee lines again even though they did come back up to the Bronx. Now for speculation: I suspect these are just Bronx operators coming to Manhattan to cover for some runs as the same loans seem to be repeating (With the exception of 1215, 5288, and 5953 as those were swapped with 5813, 5821, and 5914).
  17. Both units are in service on the Q44. No Stengel unit has been moved to LaGuardia yet.
  18. Not usually. The last 62 set was on the for months until recently when the different set came over.
  19. https://www.menendez.senate.gov/newsroom/press/sens-menendez-and-booker-reps-sherrill-payne-jr-and-pascrell-jr-announce-47m-for-nj-transit-from-the-fta NJ Transit got more federal funding from the FTA ($47 Million) that will go towards providing the equipment necessary to handle battery-electric buses at the Hilton garage, and to increase service in other areas.
  20. R62A cars 2251-2255 on the have been wrapped with an ad promoting an Max streaming series (Didn't catch the name though). Its interesting seeing a 62A with ads outside the 42nd Street Shuttle.
  21. So I need to know if the Meadowlands 9000s (9041, 9046, 9049-9050) were sent to Wayne or not. I know Meadowlands has some pieces of Wayne routes, but I just need some clarification with those 4 units.
