  1. With the amount of use that these switches are getting, does anyone still think that the IND overbuilt this junction? A lot of the flexibility is turning out to be quite useful. And we’re trying to save money by foregoing useful functionality like this in the future (hint: Grand Street and Second Avenue)?

A lot of the IND was overbuilt, which has actually been helpful over the years.

  2. With a handful of supplemental (F) trains per hour turning at 2nd Avenue and NB (D) trains switching to the local to get to 8th Avenue at Broadway-Lafayette? I don't know, there's only so much track space to go around here...

Well, given the headways of the Holiday train, you can run all of the trains with no issue.

  3. Well, since the tracks to the montage tunnel are still OOS from Broad St, the (2) is being extended to New Lots AV and Flatbush AV at the same time while the (5) ends at Grand Central and the (4) ends at Brooklyn Bridge. And I really wanted to see the (J) to Propspect Park :(

Do you think before you speak ?

  4.

The buses you've named aren't in CS lol

and the TA is well aware of the 98 Nova RTS and Gen 1 07s HEVs are slated for retirement soon

Even tho it looks like the Village got "shitted" on with the change of the LFS order... They actually aren't

Trust with option orders on the table... The next wave of 40 footers coming in... Queens Village WILL be on that order but for the time being the way this order looks

By the time it's complete and ALL shifting has been done there WILL be a surplus of NGs and 1999 Novas... So QV will be fine

Not to mention 8045-8089 eventually will go back to QV once enough new LFS coming in[/. Says who?

Actually, if you do the math, Jamaica is supposed to receive enough LFSs to replace the NGS, 1996 RTSs, & the 2011 LFSs, and since QV is not getting a piece of the order, it does make sense for QV to take them back.

  5. While the Q44SBS is on track to start possibly next month.

No word yet on the B46SBS? Spotted a train strip the other day on the (4) train. Train sets 7671-7675 have the strip for SBS46+

The B46 SBS got put on hold. They're probably going to wait until Flatbush gets more artics.

  6. I couldn't agree with you more. I feel like 10th Ave would have seen more usage than 34th street does now just because it is in more of a residential area so people will take it to head to Time Square, Grand Central and on Game days Citi Field. I was trying to look out the window to see where the station would be. Someone said on here before the MTA planned to leave the space for a 10th Ave station at another time but I couldn't see a spot with a big gap between tracks and I don't think the station would only have side platforms because all the other (7) stops in Manahattan are island platforms.

By the way the tunnel looks, they didn't leave no shell or space for the proposed station.
