  1. The conductor either use special keys to switch the rollsign or put down a code for the train to display the location and route. I'm not sure about train crews messing with the rollsigns, but I saw an R62A displaying on the front and side of the 1st car at Penn Station. I also saw a green 10 train at 3 Avenue-138th Street in the same format. May I mention there are hundreds of ways to mess with a rollsign?
  2. The Bx41 is more frequent than the Bx39, so it was easier to switch their northern terminals. As for the Bx10, there are too much turns to use if it is extended to Woodlawn.
  3. News on the shuttle bus: after 3rd Avenue-138th Street, you could stay on the bus for direct service to the and on the Concourse.
  4. Bx1: It dosen't need to be longer, you could use the Bx10 instead. Bx2:The return of Melrose service is a good idea, but why extend it to 238 Street when you can use both the Bx1 and Bx3 for Riverdale service? Bx4: Sure why not DUPLICATE THE SOME MORE since it won't WASTE MONEY anyway? Bx8: Not sure about this one, but seems decent. Bx10: What about Norwood service? Bx14: Like everyone said, the original route was discontinued due to low ridership. Bx16/Bx34: I guess, but people would be upset about the loss of the Bx34. Why do you thing weekend service got restored on the Bx34? Bx19: I guess it won't hurt for it to connect to the Bx26, but that's about it. Bx22: No comment. Bx24/Bx31: Apparently, Hutchinson Metro Center service does not matter to you. Also, I think the Bx31 is long enough. Bx26: Happened in 1990's, discontinued shortly after. Bx41: I always wondered why it got cut to 149th Street.... Bx55: You have to fight the Bx15 LTD and Bx41 SBS for this to happen.
  5. Service Change Posted: 11/22/2014 8:03AM Due to an ongoing water main break at E 143 St-St Mary's St, there is no train service between 3 Av-138 St and Hunts Point Av. Shuttle bus service is being provided between 3 Av-138 St and Hunts Point Av. Allow additional travel time.
  6. This is a track map that I saw a while ago on an MTA document: It's not a big yard but it is a yard that could hold 2 Avenue trains. The track map shows all the 2 Avenue stations. The only differences are that 55 Street is known as 57 Street and 72 Street has two island platforms and 3 tracks instead of one island platform and two tracks.
  7. Next: Due to a police investigation, not one train cannot pass though Fulton Street. Reroute the affect lines.(I know this might be unreasonable but bear with me please)
  8. December is coming, which means it's time to pull out the Holiday Special soon.

  9. I believe there will be a yard in Harlem around 125 Street for the 2 Avenue line. It would be similar to the 137 Street yard on the 7 Avenue line.
  10. The 4 car sets will be assigned to the lines since they have the oldest fleet in the system. As for the 5 car sets, some people say it's for the for 2 Avenue, and others say the to stay with the R179s on the . There is no way to tell where the 5 car sets will go at this time.
  11. They mostly use ridership to determine if a route should use artics or not and they look at the availability of the buses in a depot.
  12. Did anyone notice the r62s (specifically the train) have their interior lights blink or go out more often than other lines or cars? Or is it just me?
  13. Reading the car numbers near the end of each car repeatedly.
  14. My quote above says it all. There is nothing more that is needed for 179 Street.
  15. Why? 179 Street has a lot more capacity than most terminals, as there are 4 tracks to use for termination.
  16. Here's something I would propose: the Bx54 It would run from Fordham Plaza to Flushing. Downtown buses would run on 3 Avenue, left on 184 Street, onto Authur Avenue, left on 182 Street, right on Boston Road, left on Tremont Avenue, then follow the Q44 to Flushing. Uptown buses uses the same streets as Downtown buses (at least where it separates from the Q44). The Bx54 would make all stops, allowing the Q44 to get limited stops in the Bronx. The home depot would be West Farms and its bus models would be a mix of both standard and artic buses like the Bx15. It runs at all times except late nights and it's frequency is similar to the Q44.
  17. It should be to have the connect to Fulton Street at all times. Fulton Street is a very busy station, especially with the Fulton Transit Center that recently opened. Not sure if it could work since the was extended to 179th Street in the early 1990's, but quickly discontinued. I believe most people would use an express service in Jamaica instead of a local. In fact, this is the reason the Queens Boulevard locals end at Forest Hills and the Jamaica died quickly.
  18. 1. The was Brown, not yellow 2. Broad Street usually closes during weekends. Broad Street will run at all times starting in 2015. 3. The served Broad Street only during rush hours, when the ran to Bay Parkway. (Although it did briefly terminate at Broad Street evenings in 2009 and 2010.)
  19. During select weekends, when the had G.O.s extending it to Chambers Street.
  20. Here is something I would propose: the running to Bedford Park Boulevard all day. Do you think people would actually use it? I say this it a good idea because Bronx riders would have a direct service to local stops on the Central Park West line. Also, I think they should bring the and back to their original northern terminals. With my proposal from above, I would have the run to Bedford Park Boulevard at all times except late nights and when the dosen't run weekends, the would make all stops north of 145 Street. Which would be the better idea, extending the or switching the and terminals? Could both of these proposals together be a good idea? Please give feedback as soon as possible.
  21. is suspended between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza. Runs express in Manhattan. Late nights all stops to 57 Street. ends at Times Square at all times. uses the 63 Street tunnel at this time.
  22. Service Change Posted: 11/12/2014 6:05PM Due to ongoing signal problems at Wall St, the following service changes are in effect: and trains are running with delays in both directions. Some southbound trains terminate at or 86 St or Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. Some southbound trains are running on the line from 149 St-Grand Concourse to Nevins St. Allow additional travel time. So apparently the can terminate at 86 Street without delaying the few trains that go though there.
