The Q39 has no business in Brooklyn under no circumstances. I know everyone has the notion about the B20 ending at Broadway Junction. However, from Broadway Junction to Postal Facility is only 2.5 miles and Postal Fac to Ridgewood is 5 miles. At this point is to leave the B20 and Q39 alone.
Queens Plaza to Broadway-East New York is double the mileage and double the headache. That’s a bus ride I personally wouldn’t want to endure. Sorry.
Copy copy. Here’s my thing. If you have a good reputation with the dispatcher especially it’s from the depot of origin (i dunno the dispatch at St. George but I’m assuming the dispatch is from Yukon)
I know that when I was taking the bus i would see certain B6 ops get the OK from the dispatcher sitting on Glenwood and Nostrand to leave a few mins early. I believe at the time the dispatch was Flatbush based and he also looked out a lot during the AM rush via the B41/44/103 at Junction. The Spring Creek dispatch traveled between checkpoint and junction.
That could of been the 6:52 bus. However, the driver was being a douche about the time situation he f**ked up everyone else’s commute just to please the dispatcher or what have you.
A normal operator wouldn’t do that at all. Either that op doesn’t have pull yet to run hot and getting OK from dispatch. I’m in agreement with @Deucey. Just glad you got his ID.
Damm. Staten Island b/o being ultra petty. SMDH. I guess he didn’t mention the fact he was running hot and the dispatcher would chew him up once he arrived at St. George.
The last time that happen to me was with a Ulmer Park operator. We left New Lots than once the bus got to Canarsie we sat at Rockaway for about 15 mins all b/c he ran hot and this was a late night.
In that instance I do agree with you. I totally forgot that WF has D60 fleet that needs to be gone.
Also, is WF scheduled to receive buses from Gleason or is that vice versa since some of Gleason’s artics are in NYC and delivery has begun.
The 1200’s won’t be going to chop-shop anytime soon. Those buses haven’t reached 12 years old yet and they are in decent condition with the recent overhaul of the buses. Just MCH buses need to be overhaul for the program. Just that the Bronx will have a surplus on the artics.
I think FB’s 53xx buses more or less will be Manhattan bound rather than Bronx bound. If I were a bettor in this situation i see those 38 buses being shifted to TU and some of their XD60’s to Quill.
**Just kinda wished that the could built another CFM in Brooklyn that specializes with novas at least you have some from Staten Island at the Brooklyn facility rather than the long haul to The Bronx**
Is there a possibly that SI could be New Flyer in the near future?
Bus lanes been on Penn Ave from Seaview to Valhalla (at least going northbound) for about a month. You are a little late on that. Right now, no cameras 📷 yet. However, soon enough, and I think that bus lane is 24 hours? I could be wrong. Dunno, if they installed lanes southbound to Starrett.
Just as others eluded, you will have 1 or 2 buses run behind schedule and have them signed as Limited. I've seen them run to Rockaway Parkway than they run local to Starrett City. Would be wishful thinking to run both the B82 and B6 limited on Sundays. However, will claim they don't need limited on weekends, but in actually they need.
Thus forcing people to walk over to 5th Avenue. Yikes for Staten Island Service.
Also, additional branches need to be created or else this is going to turn to another whole tour of the island to the VZ via Brooklyn.
Send me the link on this.
I really wanted not to chime in on this Staten Island Express project. However, from what I’m reading about this new SIM30 which could be making the whole tour of the north shore (correct me please).
All the planners needed to do was to create another route SIM36 from Rosebank to Midtown/Downtown. A pure lost opportunity for to address more express bus issues in SI.
Wait till the fall. If you think Queens Division has it bad. Brooklyn Division will have it worse in September when the B12 is severely reduced throughout the day. I don’t know who’s bright idea was to decrease service throughout the day.
**hopes and clings that new bus action plan comes to Queens and Brooklyn before they examine Bronx and Manhattan*
