I don’t think my bus was leaking from the sun roof I’ll see if I can dm you the tweet I sent later tonight. But my bus was leaking from multiple spots including windows and roof.

I can understand a couple drops from the emergency exit but the first bus this happened to me it was like it was pouring from the roof. That to me is unacceptable HAVC or not, there is no reason a constant flow of water to be falling off the roof from a bus. If I need an umbrella to ride inside a bus then it is just plain unacceptable.

Honestly I'd rather take delays for quality buses. I have already two experiences with the new XD40's leaking during rain. Honestly I wonder how some of those buses even made it into service.

I don't think an average rider would directly realize that. They would just see that the n41 doesn't exist and assume that it's a cut. Most people probably won't go online and look up the schedule and compare it to the old one.

But then you have routes like the Q111/113/114 which don't even have proper bus stop signs when they cross the border.

I'll have to pay attention the next time I ride one.

Yeah, as far as I know, they're the only revenue trains with tinted windows.

The reason I think they called it n40/41 is that if the stopped using n41, people would see it as a service cut. Regardless of the fact that all the runs were absorbed into the n40.

The thing about Nova is that their design works and is popular it’s just that most of their business is up north. Going between Buffalo and Toronto almost every transit agency (with the exception to GO Transit) has Nova buses l. Most of them being gen 4 too. Nova bus is pretty much going by the model of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. New Flyer for the most part is competing with everyone. That also includes Gillig which a lot of transit agencies like due to their low cost. That being said having been on some of gen 1 LFS and gen 4 CNG LFS in Buffalo, it’s very clear why they were picked. In Buffalo those buses are driving on snow and ice and on roads that are completely torn up. They have routes where the buses go on bridges with steep inclines while snowing. Yet theses buses have little to no problems. In fact the gen 1 buses are out lasting Gilligs in their fleet. IMO of the MTA actually invested in Nova bus and just waited the time it would end up much better for them. Nova buses always feel like they’re built with quality. I’m really confident that these buses will outlast the New Flyers too.

I know this isn’t an express route but another route I’d suggest looking into is the M98. This route operates similarly to an express bus and deals with almost the same exact problems. I had a couple time I tried to use it over the summer and almost everytime I had to deal with either extremely late buses or no shows.

I got a couple chance to ride the n26 and surprisingly the ridership is decent. I still seem to have more reverse peak riders bus those buses are definitely not empty.

I guess they didn't learn their lesson from last time.

I know I've been quietly lurking on the forums since I've gotten back to the city but Main St Service was an absolute shit show today and I kinda wanna vent about it. I was unfortunate enough to have to make two trips during the manhole fire between Franklin and Maple. For my first trip, the bus got stuck in traffic for a long time until Franklin Ave. Thanks to a supervisor I was able to get off and just walk to my destination. For my second trip, a Q20 N/B driver refused to make any stops on Kissena until Sanford Av which kinda pissed me off because I was hoping to be able to walk back from one of the Kissena stops. After I walked back to Main St I saw a Q20 flying southbound. The bus got to Maple Ave and then realized it f**ked up. It stood there for a couple of minutes and it went straight through the closed-off road followed by a bunch of cars. The BO had to explain to an NYPD officer on the other side why they choose to drive through the closed-off road. (As well as the cars who followed.) I'm pretty sure the bus driver just started their shift at Main and 39th and had no clue that there was a detour in effect. I got some pics and vids but I'll refrain from posting them as to not get BO in trouble. (If they aren't in trouble already.)

With the whole non-diesel bus orders, I wonder why the MTA still isn't looking into Nova, they're CNG buses are great and have already been out for a couple of years. Same for the HEV, it's been out longer but they still haven't even gotten a demo for these buses. The fact that they've gotten every fuel type for the Xcelsior and still are only at diesel for the Nova's concerns me for the long run. The Last thing the MTA needs is an exclusive fleet from one brand.

Are there any photos of the uniforms? Or which depos are using them because I haven't seen any dark blue shirts today.

So I’ve noticed that some n20G OVII are displaying “Flushing Main St Station” instead of “Flushing”. I wonder isn’t this was done to match MTA buses.
