  1. On the left is a hat I got from the Eagle Team that does the M86 SBS, as we're somewhat friendly with them as the bus stops right in front of my building. The hat on the right I got a few days ago from a friend; he got it from someone else who was selling a lot of transit merch.
  2. The funny part was they didn't even scroll. It was just cut-off (sorry for the double responses)
  3. A Grand Central-bound M8 approaching Harlem-125th Street in the rain
  4. An R68 D train approaching 9th Avenue with its front cab door open
  5. So, the destination signs are...special, to say the least...
  6. My friend saw it heading to Pitkin last night!
  7. Remember, it was originally for the to also run to Southeastern Queens. Hell, the TA was in no rush to tear down the El but the residents and businesses in Jamaica pressured them into tearing it down earlier than planned.
  8. The IRT had done it before the IND! When the 7 Av Line was extended south of Times Square, they create 7th Avenue South to run the subway under and literally cut straight through the West Village
  9. Given that 3242-38 was spotted heading to Pitkin late Thursday night, I wouldn't be surprised if 3247-46 arrived Monday, with the same deliveries happening like last week, to end up with 3247-43 heading to Pitkin next Thursday as well. If that indeed happens, I'd assume 3238-47 would be on the test track in the near future.
  10. I tested it at 33 St (obviously it didn't accept), but it read my phone immediately. I think once they open it from employee-only testing to the general public at the end of May we'll be able to see just how nicely (or not nicely, but more likely nicely) tap-to-pay works. Also, I feel like we've all had the time when you've swiped, thought it went through, and gone to go through the turnstile and been whacked by the bar...
  11. Hasn't that issue been fixed? Also if they ran via the it'd be via the Bridge...
  12. I've never seen that used before. I've always wondered why they never used it for disruption reroutes!
  13. I mean...to give at least a little credit, the looped stanchions they add are good for passengers, since they effectively double the space to hold on each one
  14. Given that it's already about 7 cars long, and they've removed the crossover south of the station, would it be possible to extend it an extra three cars (even if it might have to go slightly north?) Or would ridership simply not warrant that much effort?
  15. I believe a section of one of the tunnels has a middle trackway that was intended to be used for maintenance under the 1970s SAS project.
  16. I mean, they still will have to bore tunnels from 105th to 110th, and 120th to 125th/Lex.
  17. 3240 and 3239 arrived tonight at 207th Street. I got to see them actually unloading 3240, and saw 3242 and 3241 just behind it, ready to be linked up with tonight's deliveries. 3240: 3239: 3240 being winched off the trailer, with 3241 in the background (maybe 3242 if you look hard enough!)
  18. They're here! 3242 and 3241 arrived last night – didn't see them unload it since for some reason the locomotive wasn't coming, and I was cold and needed to get back home... Photos:
  19. Thank you! I'd been wanting to see them deliver a car before they were all here, and never knew in advance when a car would be coming!
  20. What time do the cars typically come over the bridge?
  21. From what I saw they had heavy security. I saw a photo of massive lines just to be screened for the ferry, let alone get on
  22. Seems like it was poor planning on many accounts – good weather also probably caused even more crowds than expected. Reportedly not just the subway was jammed – the bridge was closed to traffic, ferries were packed, and the tram had giant lines.
  23. Referring to the on the local, it would be a green/yellow signal over a yellow signal on the bottom, which indicates a diverging route. Your would then have a green/yellow over green, indicating it's clear to proceed straight through the interlocking.
