Anyone know what happened to the Prevost express bus order?

We’re still in a global pandemic, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s delayed.

    Some bus news -

2020 Prevost 1300 has made it to an an acceptance facility finally after being delayed for a while due to corona. It's not on property yet, but unless something goes wrong, it should be at some depot in short order

MTA will be taking over the SIM23 and 24 from Academy in the coming years. The option order (1607-1629) has been exercised as a result

The Nova LFS HEV pilots aren't far behind

From CPTDB Wiki - @Orion6025 (not sure if it is the same one here, so I didn't tag)

The N6 has been dumping people at Elmont Rd rather than at the city line(about a mile away) where at least they can transfer to MTA buses.

    Yeah, that seems short sighted.

Very shortsighted. Are they even providing some other means of getting to the city line or Jamaica - that wouldn't make sense either, but at least people can get to where they are going...

What plan? The Bay Ridge one? I believe so... This is a different set up entirely. I would like to see coach buses on these lines ideally. We'll have a conference call tomorrow to discuss particulars.

True. Maybe this could be the first D45 CRT LE in NYC!

edit: maybe an enviro500 would be better, those are low floor

Should the (F) line be extended from Jamaica 179 further out into Queens up to Cunningham Park ?

Combined with a rethink of the buses in that area feeding the train, I think it's something worth considering.

Looking at the bus routes currently on Hillside, (F) stops at 188 Street, Francis Lewis Blvd and Springfield Blvd would allow you to consolidate the buses on north and south of Hillside into one route rather than funneling together to Jamaica.

Yes, please. I’ve long been in favor of an (F) extension further down Hillside. With the tail tracks extending as far as they do, that’s probably one of the easiest places to break ground on the extension.

I proposed a Queens TramLink which would partially serve as an (F) extension (and maybe you could extend the Streetcar Shuttle to 179th)

    See here for the proposal:

Oh, Yeah. Jova42R, One Large R179 Sign Saying:

    (B) Kings Hwy

    (B) Brighton Lcl

    (B) 6 Av LcL

Could you please be more clear on what you want? I cannot do 8 signs for quite a while. Is that ok? If not, please tell me which ones you want as rollsigns. Rollsigns are much easier to make. Thank you.

Gotcha. I think we're on the same page; I don't think there is a way to get the subway off of Second (either to Third, or east to Alphabet City). The latter has been studied and dismissed in every single iteration of the project since the '70s.

I get your pessimism, but this is also the proposals thread, a place where people are specifically supposed to vent ideas that will most likely never happen. Personally rather than the lower half of Second Avenue I think we should just link East Side Access to Atlantic via Downtown; the entire reason SAS Phase III and IV even makes sense is because ESA is about to dump people into GCT with only one overcrowded train line to get downtown, but if that's the problem then a better solution would be to bring those trains downtown rather than make people transfer for no reason.

@CenSin @Trainmaster5 @LaGuardia Link N Tra: My plan for Lower SAS:

    https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?hl=en&hl=en&mid=1bjT60XQdK8kYkqtIRZUKKzkehRL0-vin&ll=40.637561294513105%2C-73.90227916683934&z=11

It uses 65 St to get to 3rd, utilizing 66th's wideness, then uses 37th to get back to the waterfront, utilizing the tunnel entrance. It then goes down the FDR to Av C, and hits Two Bridges before going down South St to Hanover Sq. There are TRACK connections with the (A)(C) to provide operational flexibility, and Tisch Hospital is a 3-track short-turn terminal. In addition, Houston St will have a pair of inner tracks connecting to the (F) inner tracks, and provisions for connections to the (J)(M)(Z).

    Thoughts?
