It's crazy how soon we will have LFS's replacing LFS's and XD40s replacing XD40s. The industry needs to introduce a new heavy-duty transit bus model for some variety.

Anytime I'm on a bus ( be it high-floor or not) these idiots always, ALWAYS slow the bus down with their drama. I always believe that strollers and wheelchairs/shopping carts should be outlawed on buses. You don't see bicycles on buses, so why should these other transport devices be?

The State could have done that. The MTA is a state Agency first and foremost.

Apparently, more XN60s are indeed on the way, we just don't know when or how many (or even where they'll be assigned). This was according to a couple of sources on FB, nothing official, but more artics are indeed coming.

TBH, I don't know if MTA would have gone throw with closing the entire system. I just don't see that occurring, severe cuts? Yes, however but it would have caused an even bigger headache. The only thing I could have seen MTA doing (without the county going private) would be to actually officially purchase the system itself (like they should have) and have the state impose giant fees for the county to be FORCED into complying. That still likely would have lead to cuts since the MTA would have had a field day with the system (including routes that even NICE managed to somehow avoid cutting). RVC Depot still might have closed down, or they could have cut alot of Mitchell Field's service and split it up between the 2 CNG Depots.

So the option order for NYCTA don't have that (#1607-1629+ #1587-1606)? It's interesting that the MTA had spec'd the NYCTA units differently than the MTA bus company units. They haven't done that with earlier bus orders with the possible exception of the 2015-16 New Flyer XD60 artics #5364-5438, although they were of a different vintage than the other orders.

As far as I know, there is no current mandate to retire bus at the MTA by 12 years of age, but that might change in the coming years giving the fact that they are retiring NG hybrids from the 2009-2010 timeframe. NICE seems to being doing at as they have been retiring NG CNGs for sometime now and I suspect the MTA will follow. Once the electric buses have taken over by 2040, it will likely be only 12 years as battery replacement is nearly half the price of the bus itself.

These swaps are redundant. The original order to these new hybrids were supposed to be MHV, 100 St, KB, and GH, while the XDEs were for MCH, MJQ, GA, and ENY. I get that these were meant to train B/Os at the affecting Depots during snow loans, but now I'm under the impression that these moves are permanent given the quantity of buses being reassigned to Depots not originally meant to receive them. Are these in fact permanent assignments going forward?

Which seems to suggest that Nassau MIGHT actually be shelling out more for the first time since the early 2000s atleast.

I second that, although to be frank ,it wouldn't make much sense for Amtrak to do either as Long Island is already being well served (for the most part) by MTA Long Island Railroad. Staten Island has SIRR.

The following 2010-2011 Orion 7.501 NG CNGs have been repainted : #1800, #1805, #1814-15, #1826-17, #1829, and #1839. Also 2012 Orion 7.501 EPA10 3G CNG #1848 has been repainted as of 2018.

Idiot Biden is still bumbling and sliding America into economic ruin with his destructive policies. They need to remove this entire puppet administration and put someone that is...ACTUALLY sane and has a sound mind and help put this nation back to prominence. Any thoughts?
