  1. Based on what I'm reading about MTA BC's new bus procurements, this could very well be the last time NYCTA send their old fleets to BC, because after this, 400+ new Clean Diesels are headed their way, not even including the 37 pending Artics or the 200+ new CNGs. There will no longer be a need for that.
  2. I thought there around 60 NGs left from MHV Depot? Wow, the O7 era in this city is quickly coming to a close.
  3. This is a fairly small order of buses. You make it seem like this is the end of a 900+ bus order or something lol. The 1993 TMC RTS 06 order (the 4th smallest RTS order for the MTA) of #8401-8567 as bigger than this. Of course, not all of those were assigned to Brooklyn back in the day.
  4. Anyone think the B81 could be for MTA bus? For that matter, why wasn't the B110 included for a takeover?
  5. Those same people probably don't know Staten Island exist....
  6. I can see MTA Staten Island Ferry being a thing one day, lol.
  7. Is there any updates as to the future of RVC Depot? Is it still slated for demolition as it's been almost 6 years since NICE ran their last buses out of there.
  8. You got a good point there. The 1997 Novabus RTS's were basically killed off by the 2014-15 New Flyer XD40s , the last of which retired around early 2018. The last 1996s retired by early 2019. Hell, when you think about it, the 1996 Novabus RTS's outlived the 2003 Orion 7.501 OG CNGs and almost outlived the 2004-05 ones as well.
  9. This wasn't always the case as that only became noticable once SI got their NG Hybrids back in the late 2000s. Before that, people often complained about dirty buses, loads of breakdowns, missed trips, and just bad upkeep in general. In my opinion (based on observation, only doing NYCT Depots): Brooklyn: Grand Avenue and Jackie Gleason are the best while Ulmer Park (and to a lesser extent, Fresh Pond) would be the worst. Queens: Casey Stengel seems to be the best overall one and it's not even close. Manhattan: MJQ and MHV has many lines that go through parts of the city with money and as such, their buses are rightfully up to the task, and they deliver. MCH isn't bad either. Staten Island: Charleston , as it's basically the CMF for SI. The Bronx: West Farms is alright, but the others are just terrible.
  10. Sounds kinda like what NICE bus was doing back in 2012-2017 right before the 2017 service cuts.
  11. I'm not entirely sure if this is trully mileage based as if it were, the #3800s would have been gone by summer 2022.
  12. I'm assuming you're not talking about the bus.....
  13. Nice, just about done. Is #1307 active though? I read a while back that it hit an overpass.. (if not that one, it was one of the CP batch of low #1300s).
  14. There's no reason to retire #4500s as if there is no tomorrow when they are barely 12-13 years old.
  15. Honestly, this whole NG retirement plan is a total mess. The MTA should have just elected to retire #3800-4278 first.
