    How often does one need to take an HSR from one part of the US to the other? Again Europe's individual contries [not counting the European part of Russia] are nowhere near as large as the US is. So what works for one part of the world doesn't work for here. Why don't you try to ride a train for over 17 hours as opposed to taking a 5 hour flight?

    I think they are repeats, and I think the season finale of Family Guy was a spoof of Star Wars 5. Simpsons, just hasn't seemed great these past few years [maybe decade]. The movie was great, but the seasons are hit or miss. I judge them based on the Treehouse of Horror specials.

    Do you even know how far it is from San francisco and NYC? This isn't like flying from Berlin to London. No one in the US is going to want to take a long train ride [thru varying geological terrain like mountains] over flying which takes at least 5-6 hours from coast to coast.

    Because if a person wants to get from say San Fran to NYC, they'll take the plane than the train. HSR works better in Europe because their countries are smaller and flying would make sense if it was country to country.

    They had a major update since the June 28th service shakeup. I don't expect a new one to be done for at least a few months. So far it seems these are small moves that are still going on.

    They are so the switches do not become frozen during the winter. It is normal and 'safe'. Safer than the switches freezing up and trains going into the wrong track pocket.

    That's not possible. And did you ever concider that some are there as spares in case other buses on their routes craps out and needs a replacement? You need some buses in the depot around.

    Yup. that's why if I need to get from Flatbush to the Brighton lines it would be either the b9 or B82. I'm not going to bother with the B100 on weekend headways like that.

    Yeah, when he loses an arguement, he resorts to one word responses or tries to change the subject. No amount of academic smarts can teach him simple common sense. I think the 'Al Sharpton' in him keeps him from thinking beyond his preconcieved thoughts of stuff. Well kudos for the words, sadly it's all lost on him.

    Yeah, that's exactly the thing that's plaguing one of my cameras. Those 'smudge' marks appears at times. It's annoying as hell. The only reason i still keep it around is because that one is easier to switch b/w picture and video mode compared to the t300.

    My current camera: sony T-300 has this weird problem where the image isn't stablizing and it sounds like the 'motor' inside is 'whirring'. I can still get shots from it, but other times the camera doesn't stabilize and I can't use it. And it's not a battery thing either as I usually use a full battery. The other one an N2 has some stuff in the lens that after I take a picture and upload it on my pc, I notice some 'smudges'. At times it doesn't show, but other times it's noticeable [mainly on daytime pics]. All I can say is that at least so far the dslr [Alpha 100] cam I have is still ok.

    Very ambitious! The only thing I'm not too sure of is the gutting the Ozone branch as the Rockaway Park branch really doesn't need that much service most of the day.
