  1. just to bring back this thread: you guys have less than a month to enjoy the SMEE's on the , once after labor day all the R32's will return to the and the 3 extra Jamaica R46's will return to Jamaica and the R42's will return to ENY, its Obvious that the will get its equipment back once after labor day like last year, because when school starts Jamaica is gonna need its equipment back
  2. that could be the case but the train needs work, and on top of that the needs service, and 2 R42's are already on the until september after Labor day when the gets the R32's back
  3. The only thing That gets me if this train was to go to 207th they would have sent it to 207th the same night, so its obvious it won't go to 207th, Mostlikely it would go to CI to get SMS'ed or stay there and sit until they decide what to do with it

R46's are still going to SI even if there not enough cars, 6170-6258 will go to Staten Island (now depending on thier condition since they are doing very bad on the that might be subject to change) plus 2nd ave is opening the year the R179's would start coming in, like lance said pitkin would send Jamaica back about 48 cars to send 50 R160B's to CI for the 2nd ave will mostlikely happen, it makes sense so that the R179's would be only for the (A)/© with the 50 going to the east for , and service

  8. Lance they don't rerember, the R30's Had the Same type of rollsigns and THEY infact ran on the from 1988-1993 and there's picture proof and yes it had the single in the middle
  9. the Current Rollsigns on the R32's are from 1988-89, most of the Phase I's have the Adenz - grotesk (however you spell it) font 1988, and some have the Helvetica 1989 with the Adenz - grotesk letter in the bullet, and 3510/11,(3356 scrapped) and 3807 are the Only R32's with Pre-1988 Rollsigns from 1985
  10. hey Guys, Not all R32's have the Jamaica Nassau St setup, I got lucky that day and that poped up when i was scrolling through the signs took a shot of it and changed it back, but most of the R32's have the in the middle with no info some have the at the normal spot but with no lettering

It sounds similar from what I heard, but as for the R42's its unknown, thats why we should all wait and see, and yes them R46's are doing very poorly, 3370/1 is a bad set, when it was at jamaica when on the bad in 2010, it took a 4 month break from service and out of the blue in april it comes back in service
  12. @ train guy yup I even have photos of the 32s on the shuttle, and even if it just said Z I wouldn't matter when the R30s were on the J they also ran the Z
  13. The rollsigns have Z also but just a Z bullet, but there's a possibillty of them aperring on the J/Z
  14. @ trainguy, yeah your right, but right now the pitkin R46s are having issues with breakdowns,door issues and etc. But I do like the R46s but they are having issues on the A line right now

Here's one main reason why the F got R160s, breakdowns was on main factor, 2 the R46s can not run on the E unless they really need a train for an emergency, Jamaica had the 46s since day one!, pitkin yard had em since 2009, they are getting up in age, back to the main topic So what are your thoughts on what they would do with the 32s in ENY, please stay on topic

The F uses 1-5 trainsets of R46s, the A uses over 15 trainsets, normaly 38 trainsets, bottom line is that they are up in age and they are starting to drop like flies, it doesn't matter what the passengers want, whatever there's an avalable train they will use it, everyday I see R46s going straight to the yard, they are becoming unrelaible, I always said the A line needs newer cars, the fleet is too old the R46s are damn near 40

Sometimes you can't explain to people on certain things The R46s on the A are have a lot of issues due to they way they run, the A is a 24/7 line the R46s are runned to death causing issues when not layed up, like I stated those cars need rest, the R46s on the F and R runs very good and they do run the R46 on the F overnight as well and the F is just as heavy, it seems you don't ride the A as much, train operators and esp conductors don't like R32s so they try everything to get the disphater to lay up an R32, I see this everyday, back to the R32 in ENY its unknown why that R32 was move to ENY but I doubt its for 207th st, they would have sent it straight up there so there's has to be another reason but we will find out sooner or later
  18. the single unit R62A's that will be linked will not have full width cabs, but that can change, 1656 has a half width cab at one end

Phase II R32's were replaced due to the Fact the TA was too cheep to SMS them to correct the Brake Issues, they had Brake Issues due to the Fact the TA modified the Brakes with WBCO Brake Pipes and that made the Issues worse, the same type of Air Brake Equipment is on the R68's (esp 2868/9,2727 and a few others have the Phase II air brake) and R62A's and they run great, THATS the main reason why the Phase II's were retired and the TA REGRETS getting rid of those cars, because now we have 48 beat down R42's and back then had rotting R44's (retired in 2010) and now we have about 150-200 less cars, The Biggest Mistake were the retirement of the R40M's, were in very good shape and very reliable, so thats why that group of R32's were retired, the GE R32's were oddballs so they said the hell with it get rid of them, so thats another Fact on why that group of subway cars were retired when the TA likes to modify subway cars they fail at it causing them to have issues in the future
  20. yeah because of their damn weight and issues, but we know they aren't going anywhere, they aren't bad cars, the R68A's have brake issues, that was the TA's falt, not kawasaki's they modified the brakes and it made them horrible, the R68's on the other hand are good
  21. @ the subway station, when did i say the R68's were retiring, I said that that CI wants (or should i say planning) to put the R160's on the because of the mileage, they don't want the R160's breaking down at a horrible rate yet, meaning they want to lay off running the R160's to the ground since they are the older models from 2005-08 and the reason why you see layed up R32's due to the fact that the dispacthers don't wanna deal with the sign changing and on top of that the crew complains about the R32's hence why the R46's looks like they need rest, last year they ran the R32's more than the 46's, but im starting to see that change, and on top of that the A/C issues THATS why they are layed up, The R46's Should HAVE NEVER went to the in the first place, the should have gotten those Option Order II R160's (9803-9942) batch, they could have resolved that issue Ive been studying trains since I was very small, so I have knowledge of whats going on with trains, the r46's are having big time issues on the right now, every night i see one getting taken OOS or deadheading to pitkin yard to be shopped, the R44's may have been a peice of shit but they did a way better job than the R46's and hence dan is a MTA c/r so obviously hes stating the truth based on what i said we are at a point where all subway cars are beginning to drop like flies due to that a**hole walder laying off people, if that didn't happen, the subway cars would have been much more reliable than now

  23. yeah but the only difference is that the R44's were alot worse, jamaica took good care of these R46's, but thats their problem, im starting to believe the R32's might outlast the R46's if this is a big issue

I FREAKING KNEW IT!!!!, and I told alot of people that the R46's are having Issues, But noo everyone wants to bash the R32's and the crew on the always wants an R46, and the dispacther always takes an R32 to lay up, the Rockaways are messing those cars up if they are rusting, the R46's on the are fine, the issue is that the line runs the R46's too much, But as for this R32 set, HELL NO let ENY keep it, WE need our service, people don't realize 207th and pitkin has taken equipment from both jamaica and ENY because of this retarded swap and ENY is short as hell right now PLUS the issues with the line is making it worse, but you see when people think oh the R46's are better than the R32's i just laugh not because they are my favorite (i also like the R46's) but because how management likes to run the line
