  1. AS we Know Bombardeir has won the contract for the R179's
  2. this is an R32 thread, but yeah, the i seen some more SMS'ed R32's they look good, but some of them have not gotten their windows replaced, but they can still do it as for the R179's I heard the MTA combined the order with the R211 order and scrapped the R179 idea if this is true, The R32's and R42's will be here until 2019-2020, if this is true, but right now lets just focus on whats going on now
  3. I rode one of the SMS'ed pairs of R32's today (3888/9), all i gotta say is they only did the trucks,doors and A/C no interior work, the RFW was clean, the other windows were not replaced, i saw 3404/5 those windows were replaced here's a photo of it:
  4. yeah that retrofit contract won't be awarded until january 2013, , pushed it back

  6. 8804 @ jamaica depot, I saw it on the Q77 earlier, thats a weird move, i wonder what bus it replaced
  7. I saw the SMS pairs, 3405 in a north motor and 3414/15 in in the middle of another consist, the interiors will be the same.

Yeah the R32's and R42's got very lucky, But the R44's always had body issues, especialy the 1st bacth of them, I was never a fan of the R44's because the simple fact they were not built right, and st.louis built those cars like crap, The TA KNEW about the issues with the R44's but they kept quiet until someone decided to talk, I know the whole story behind the R44 retirement and was one of the 1st ones to find out about it, I rode the R44's when they were on their last legs, and they were riding like their trucks were gonna fall off, the only good thing about the R44's is that they never brakedown and they made the line very dependable, now the sucks with R46's. @ Fresh Pond, The reason why all these foamers foam over the R32's because they used to be redbird foamers, pre 2003 the B division was peaceful, I always like the R32's since day one as well as some other old school railfans , as soon as that last R36WF retierd everybody went straight to the B divison to foam over the IND/BMT SMEE's, a train is a train at the end of the day, but if you get rid of thes cars a subway line will go with it.

I don't see why people going mad hard about the R32's still being here yes they are old, but its a train that will still get you from point A to B, thats why they are fixing these cars up, yes to you guys its a waste of money but to me its not, 24 million is a lot but to the MTA its nothing, the NTT's are 1 million a car or more, like MC CJ said, if the R44's were still here they would have just as old as the R32's, the R44's had rot issues since the 1990's, The TA knew that they didn't do crap, The R32's had a good body construction compare to what we see now and the younger class cars that got reefed, yeah I'm a R32 fan but at the same time I'm still glad that they are still here due to the fact that this would prove that a buds built subway car can last for more than 40 years, you guys need to get it thorough your heads, its a damn train, a train thats built like the R32's can last for over 70 years, if you don't like the fact that these are still in service just don't comment, why bother commenting if your gonna put negative feedback, btw the pics IND man posted I seen those cars on the manhattan bridge before they went to the shop

  12. I don't think the C car is in the barn, if the C car was in the barn someone would have confirmed it (someone from the TA) but you never know the TA does like to hide things

  14. yeah I will have to agree, if anything Staten Island should have never gotten these test buses, Manhattanville should have gotten these also, its unfair of what they are doing, and screw West Farms , I hate that depot now, its shows the true colors of the MTA
  15. I Knew I wasn't bugging when I saw an RTS going into the depot last night, boy things are getting wierd RTS are poping up everywhere now
  16. I think 8904 is at JFK, I did see an RTS on the Q41 with 126th st depot stickers

  18. yep, at least they are fixing them up, R32's are one of the best R types that the TA has ever had along with the R1/9's and the R10's
  19. damn, I was looking forward to the repainted interiors, i don't know why they want to be so cheap, 3806/7 and 3840/1 needs interior work badly, but I'm glad they are getting the work they need.

Jamaica Depot is getting more RTS to displace those NG's to CS, But I have a gut feeling that Jamaica Might wind up getting something different, I Know they can handle Orion V's because they did have 2 or 3 of them before but they never used them ( i seen this with my two eyes, this was back in the 90's) or they can get Old Gen orion VII hybrids to balance out the fleet age I seen on in training @ jamaica depot before, but i doubt it Jamaica Depot has a major issue with vandalism, due to the fact the buses are parked outside of the depot but I think this is a very smart move those 96 orion V's gotta go, they are beat to shit, as for FP getting more hybrids, i kinda think its stupid, their better off getting more newer RTS with a lot of mileage, send that NG junk to grand ave
  21. I like the fact that 100th st got a 40 foot bus, something different for a change, now imagine they used a hybrid for the M103 during the late nights, i would foam or better yet if they had an RTS

Jamica Loosing NG's puts a smile on my face, they have been getting 96 Novas, I saw 9012 on the Q17, so that means Jamaica's ex NG's are replacing the 1996 BIA orion V's at CS and Jamaica gets RTS from where ever, wow what a smart move, I wish CS can get the RTS back, that would be nice but that an't happening
  23. 3534,3557 and 3527 @ basiley Park, I saw 3557/27 with BP stickers on it, it may be a hybird swap or BP is ready to kick out the ex bee line Orion V's
  24. I don't get why they are swapping Hybirds and they are gonna loose those hybrids back to the same depot they are coming from, I find it stupid and a waste of money and I don't Know why LGA is scrapping their RTS and they need them for service, This whole thing MAKES NO SESNE AT ALL
