No Concourse would get their spares back that they lost The Original plan was to move some R46s from pitkin to CI as the remaining R179s went into service to increase their spares while the R32's stayed on the and . 5-7 sets of R32s were planned to run in and service until the R211s show up and replace those remaining R32s. The would have been 35% to 50% 60 footers and 50% 75 footers with a decent spare factor. The would have ran the rest of the R32s with the R179s. This is why they were planned to keep 110 R32s until they decided to retire them in late 2019. Concourse would gain their spares back not lose anymore cars. They lost about 32-40 R68's between 2016-2019. That's why it would be smart to give CIY some more R46 cars to fil in the gaps this way Pitkin, CIY and Concourse yard would have a decent spare factor.
  2. CI needs an increase of spare factor since they lost the R160s. That's the only issue, They barely have any and their R46s take the most beatings. They only need like 6-8 more sets to have a balanced fleet and you forget that concourse spare factor dropped when they sent up to 4+ sets to coney over the past 7 years.

It's not set in stone that the R211s are going to coney, Concourse for the makes sense while CI getting the R160s back makes more sense for the and lines (yes Broadway will still use techs, just a handful since the majority of the fleet would be on the ). As for the R179s, it's up in the air but it's likely they would stay where they are.
  4. I don't think they'll need to store or retire anything until they are sure of the R211s reliability also Coney island need cars so it would make sense to start pushing R46s to CI yard to increase their spare factor and in the future to get rid of the bad cars over there.
  5. Jamaica needs a high spare factor due to CBTC so if a train fails and the CBTC acts up, they will have a spare ready to go. ENY does the same with the and fleets and the spares are typically used on the (Jamaica spares) the and (ENY R143s and R160s) Also Maintenance and SMS work also plays a role. They are finally SMS'ing the 9803-9942 group of R160s since those haven't been touched since they were brand new. Almost 15 years without a SMS while the rest of the R160 fleet got SMS'ed. If the did go 10 cars and to forest hills Jamaica would either get a large batch of R211s in the future or R179s which are 130 cars (10 car units) for additional service.
  6. He's full of shit and is damage controlling because they are embarrassed at the fact they didn't think of a fire suppression system when they were designing the R211T. It's an Open gangway subway car. If a fire breaks out, The fire would quickly spread to the entire 5 car section. Since CPW express is a very long stretch, They can't run in that section as well as a section in Brooklyn. Since didn't spec these cars to have fire suppression systems, they are restricted in a lot of ways.
  7. the only old gen worth saving was 3783 and they scrapped it. I doubt they'll save any. The Museum doesn't care too much about the buses anymore. 3500 would have also been a bus worth saving as that was the first group to go to BP in the summer of 2006.

  9. Them deliveries are about to slap because there are a large chunk of cars at Nebraska already fully built ready to be delivered so expect to see more frequent deliveries. Regarding the r211T's, As much as it's questionable on putting them on the and the the other issues that restrict these cars, It's better than nothing and once they fix all of the issues and whatnot, You'll either see these cars on other IND lines or the Rockaway Park shuttle.
  10. The runs in BMT section which barely has clearance. The is reasonable and the Rockaway Park shuttle would make the most sense which was the original rumor (it might still run on the shuttle later on).
  11. It's terrible at night though with the being the only sole train between 57th and 7th and queens plaza and the being the only train on 53rd st with 20 min headways. With both the and being out both trains were packed like rush hour at 1am.
  12. They are probably sending the to chambers so trains can go via 63rd Jamaica Bound. The would have nowhere to turn if they do that and sending the via CPW during the rush wouldn't help either. It wouldn't be able to go to 96th/2nd either since it wouldn't be able to access 6th ave southbound. So chambers is the only option. Also if they kept the at 57th while trains are going via 63rd in one direction, It would create delays as well.

They have been very tight lipped on certain things for the past few years and shit still happens.   17. Most of this info is public and not for nothing some people within RTO were giving information,keys and etc. and they still work down here. Y'all act like there isn't shit in your own backyard when clearly it is. The majority of the incidents were because a few in your department was giving info and equipment to underage teenagers and adults to do f**kery. Certain people used discord as a playground to share confidential information which in turn turned ugly but yet that person is still employed with NYCT. You can't say some shit like this when there is so much stuff going on behind the scenes. A lot of these things can be avoided if does a better job, They always pick and choose who they fire and who they keep. Certain people I know have lost their job over shit that weren't even their fault but yet someone who is a conductor that shared personal info on social media info for clout is still employed. The one thing i hate about this community is the amount of people who they protect knowingly knowing they are either a sexual predator who prey on underage minors or a person who constantly break into shit. Most people on this forum know who they are and they stay quiet because they want that source to continue feeding them the info and the clout they crave. lets not forget how certain people who work in NYCT who are high level allow people on NYCT property who don't even work down here.

  19. Those tail tracks can fit 30 cars on each track. Totaling 6 sets in total for lay ups. The issue is the switch placement between Supthin and Parsons. It's dead in the middle meaning this hampers the 's TPH. This is one thing should have addressed years ago esp if they want to do CBTC in that section in the future. CBTC on the Archer ave line would be pointless because of this Flaw, This is why it's not slatted for CBTC while the between 179th and union is. JC wasn't even supposed to be a terminal is the reason why on both levels the switch placement is in the middle and not close to the terminal.

Back in December of 2001 (and a year and a half after with some modifications), More Trains were added to both the and since the used less trains than both and the extra Trains were out of Jamaica 179th because Jamaica Center couldn't handle all trains and also the give passengers from 179th direct service to 53rd st. That was one of the biggest things those people complained about because back then lex and 63rd was not the greatest and even with the metrocard transfers to the because of the one 3 story exit and entrance since that station was deep. Having the via 63rd allowed for more Trains per hour, That is the only benefit. The only drawback of the via 63rd is the merge point at Queens Plaza. Fitting the into 53rd with the and would never work. If they extended the to forest hills, It wouldn't be 5 cars, It would have been 8 or 10 cars. They would have had enough since there are so many surplus 8 car R160s laying around. The would have only been weekdays anyway since nights and weekends for throughout the year it would be shutdown for CBTC work.
  21. What's scary is that these morons put their E-bikes in front of the door or the side of the motorman's cab. They always ride the front of the train. I'm surprised the hasn't done anything about it yet. I hope the union has brought this to their attention because these batteries on these e-bikes (most not all) are illegal and not approved because their modified.
  22. We receive federal funding, They should start charging people on a federal level. The state is not doing anything because the idiots up in Albany is doing anything for votes instead of going after criminals who belong in jail. These kids are doing too much and we shouldn't have to deal with the bullshit because if they continue they will do something that would put people in harms way. The NYPD gets part of the blame as well because they couldn't behave and started messing with innocent people for years instead of going after real criminals which sparked this BS from the city. The Feds pay for half the shit we have, So If they tamper or damage anything that were purchased with federal funds, They should be charged on a federal level.
  23. Original plan was to keep 110 cars but not all 110 would be used, 50-60% of that 110 car fleet would be used which is 60-70 cars while the rest were for spares. If the R32s didn't go OOS and were still around until the first 6-7 R211 sets, The whole fleet would have been retired since you'll only need 6-7 R211s and since the R211s are brand new, they wouldn't need a 30%-40% spare factor like the R32s. They can kill the entire R46 fleet with with just 900 cars or less if the R211s were perfectly fine with no issues since the R46s require a higher spare factor vs the R211s. But it's smart to just do a car to car replacement.

Anything transit related when it comes to a crime should be on a federal level, I bet once that happens, You won't see this as much or at all.
