  1. They actually have enough. Maintenance is what causes 40fters to show up on the Q12. Those 4700s have been shop queens ever since they arrived at Stengel, the work that was done to them before they left The Bronx hasn't helped much. Ulmer Park's XD60 fleet is also going through the same thing. Grand Avenue's fleet is basically the best of the bunch.
  2. That might be the case. Those current transdev ops are apparently going to become NJT operators once this is all said and done. NJT will be using the transdev garage for now.
  3. Transdev(surprisingly) is next, actually. NJT will take over Transdev operations on October 1st. Rockland's routes are operated by Community Coach now.
  4. When a bigger order is placed. Not every order replaces buses or sends them elsewhere. These also wont be out in service as long as the regular fleet, assuming that they stuck with the short range spec(which is also why the S55 and S56 are said to go fully electric once Charleston gets their batch).
  5. Me personally, Kissena. 64th Avenue would've been my ideal terminal since it's right in front of Queens College. The problem with that is the streets being a little narrow for buses, and the NIMBYism. Only reason I suggested Flushing is that there's more turnaround options. For this, I'd use the same turnaround the current Q27 uses. As for the Kew Gardens turnaround, terminate on Queens Blvd at the current Q10 150th Avenue/Rockaway Blvd branch stop, right onto 82nd, right onto kew gardens road, right onto 80th and left onto Queens Blvd. If not that, pick up on Kew Gardens Road below the Q10 stand and then make the right onto 80th Road and the left onto Queens Blvd. It sounds like a lot, but it actually isn't, seeing as operators already do loops around that area already.
  6. Kinda sorta. I feel like the current Q64 would benefit greatly from a slight northern and southern extension. It would prevent a lot of backtracking people current do with the . Jetblue was out of Terminal A for a spell. I'm not sure if they still are after terminal B was completed.
  7. Way earlier, I've caught 4070-4079 on the overnight a time or two when it was brand new. The only thing is that it hasn't been a consistent thing. There were times when all sets were taken OOS early because of crews not qualified to operate them.
  8. While screwing over both major ridership bases. Southbound buses would get slaughtered at Kew Gardens and Northbound buses would get slaughtered at Forest Hills because of the lines. The combo's main goal was not about connectivity, it was cost savings. It only looked good on a map, operationally, it would turn into a nightmare. And considering the amount of people that live by and use both lines hated the idea, that in itself speaks for itself. Also, with the connectivity argument, sure, the Q10 would connect with the Q20, Q44, Q25 and Q65, but the issue is that the number of people that actually transfer between those routes and the current day Q64 aren't exactly high. The Q64 would be better off extended into Kew Gardens and extended northward into Flushing than combining both routes.
  9. Highly irrelevant considering that they got 25 XDE40s to fill the gap of five buses. Quill also won't send buses anywhere due to this order. I don't know where or how you're getting this information.
  10. Traffic under the el isn't the problem.....it's traffic after the el. From Lefferts to 134th, you're gonna be dealing with an infinite amount of double parkers, un-synchronized lights, outdoor dining structures, traffic caused by 127th Street and 129th Street's weird layout and several other annoying factors. Traffic under the el isn't nearly as bad. It usually lasts from Lefferts to like 116th(basically the entire length of the subway station). Rockaway to like 115th is pretty smooth most of the time.
  11. Grand Avenue is likely short if they're receiving XDs from many other depots. They are definitely loans.
  12. That was my photo you saw.....and those signs were not new. 8503 had them before the arrival of 8504-8754.
  13. Actually, I take that back. I looked at the chart wrong. B100 ridership for the month of July was around 76,000 riders. The B2 averages half(sometimes less) of what the B100 gets daily. The B2 gets around 1,500 riders during the week, 600-700 on weekends.
  14. Current daily ridership for the B100 averages around 3,000-4,000 riders a day. The average for the month of July was at 27,000. August's numbers are still being counted, but it's currently at 50k. Current B2 ridership is currently about half(sometimes lower) of what the B100 gets daily.
  15. Except you have no proof of your own other than hearsay and literal bullshit. And since you refuse to stop with your nonsense in this thread, your privileges have been revoked.
  16. The Q52 and Q53 literally has nothing to do with the (A), especially since those two routes drops people off much closer to their destinations than the . You ever factored in to where those people are coming from? There's a ton of people that come from Jamaica and more parts of Eastern, Western and Northern Queens getting the Q52 and Q53. Most of those crush loads of people get off before they even pass Rockaway Blvd. They are never crushed going to the Rockaways, that point is extremely exaggerated. Lack of research from your standpoint. Not every one of those riders come from Manhattan to avoid the like you claim. The ridership within Queens as a whole is also pretty huge. I'm gonna say this again, end your bullshit in this thread or your posting privileges will be revoked. The amount of misinformation and nonsense you've posted on this forum is evidence enough that you're just here to spout nonsense for no actual reason other than attention.
  17. Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. SIR's headways are designed to meet with the ferry, hence why they are like that. 9 out of 10 times, they connect with both inbound and outbound ferries. There's a bunch of SIR stations getting ADA upgrades over the next few years, with some getting elevators this year. The car shortage has been pretty bad to a point where service was reduced pre-COVID. The effects of said car shortage was also felt elsewhere in the B-Division, so it's not over exaggerated. It has had some noticeable effect with service over the years. While the Lefferts Blvd branch of the is the higher ridership route, the Far Rockaway side has never been too far off. That branch always sees good ridership(the ridership statistics proves that point). It's not as low as you make it out to be. Take the bloody tinfoil hat off and stop posting misinformation and your own personal conspiracies. This is not the thread for your bullshit. This thread is about the R211s, not your conspiracy theories and misinformation. Anyway....... 4050-4054 spotted yesterday going to Jamaica yard last night, got it at Forest Hills. I suppose it did overnight CBTC testing.
  18. And how do you know they lied? The car shortage is/was very real after the unexpectedly early retirement of the R44s. The & lines felt the effects of the shortage for several years, and still do to this very day. Them scrapping more cars than necessary also didn't help when they got rid of more R32s than they should've. Take your tinfoil hat off. The SIR hasn't had severe car shortages in a long time. They've been able to make service just fine before & after COVID. The system has also been receiving upgrades over the years, so they are pretty far from underfunded. I've noticed that you've mostly shared misinformation and conspiracies in most topics that you've posted. You will be warned to stop that nonsense before your posting privileges get revoked. It reeks of trolling activity.
  19. As of the delivery of 4965, Jamaica is not even listed as a visitor(or a recipient) for these buses. Quill and KB are the primary testers, ENY, Grand and Charleston is scheduled to see the new XEs for prep and such in the coming weeks. The pilots are currently scheduled for only those five depots. It's looking pretty bleak for Jamaica. Construction for the new charging stations also haven't begun yet, which is also likely why Jamaica is off the list for these XEs even visiting the depot(for now). They only got the green light to get them, nothing has started yet.
  20. ......what are you talking about? Not a single thing you said here made any sense.
  21. So, the reason for the swaps to/from Tuskegee Airmen Depot is maintenance. Maintenance has gotten so bad that they've had to send buses out to other depots(WF/GH/KB/MV) for repairs and get loans in return. Those same buses are also used for service if needed. This would also largely explain why Manhattan as a whole has the lowest MDBF rating out of the five boroughs.
  22. This post isn't helping the cause. You could've just made reports instead of doing this. Us mods have lives, we can't tend to everything 24/7.
