Of course not. There are many routes that are more detailed than the NYCT routes. Take into example NWM and the future Birmingham Cross City South route.

BVE 5 is incompatible with older generation routes from BVE2 or 4, so your best chance is openBVE.

I believe the Shinkansen fleet retires because of a constant surplus in spending cash which leads to periodic train switches and upgrades. The M8s will last longer than that and you know it. So don't go hating on new technology trains as the Cosmopolitans in my opinion, are the worst of all MNRR fleets.
