  1. Howell gets trippers everyday. They have the most manpower out of all 16 garages. They do alot of the 116 trippers in the am and pm. Howell literally does everything. 112,113,114,115,116,126,128,130-139, 165, 308,319,321. They are literally all over the state from Westwood to Atlantic City. They get 112-116 based on needs for the day. Any extra work that ironbound gets every pick that they can’t handle it goes to Howell. Also they just dhd down the park to exit 123 and take 9. It’s not really a long dhd. I dhd from egg harbor to ny to do my 445 to cape may then dhd back to eht. 4hrs of dhd.
  2. Facts! One of the reasons I didn’t take this test because I didn’t want to start over from the bottom again, i get the days off I want, and time I want to start and finish. So that’s how me and her work, it was easy for me to pick my days off according to hers when she was finally able to pick, in the beginning she kept saying the relationship wasn’t going to work and l always said patient and remember I can get my days, and as long as that happens it’ll be ok. I make sure I take her to work when I can I pay for her Uber. Trust me as a bus op I know how you guys feel, everyone in transportation who works out in the field we all stress or is stressed, it’s not easy.
  3. My gf they kept her at Utica, NLots, or flatbush. She lives on boro park. Even if she caught a job at Dyre well I’d pick her up but what I’m trying to say is they made sure she signed in at one of those 3 terminals. Picking her up wise if she ended in the Bronx I’d pick her up, Wakefield I hated driving there I’d send her an Uber. Lol I mean I was fair, Dyre, 242nd, parkchester, and woodlawn I had no issue, but it was something about Wakefield that drove me crazy. I never drove to main st she was close enough to the N that she would get home in a good time. Very rarely she caught jobs at Main st or corona yard. Out of 3yrs I’d say she did maybe 5x. Same with the 1 she hardly went to 242nd. Now she finally has a job and she starts and finishes at flatbush. Key here is do the job don’t whine, don’t say you hate this and that. Your xx you don’t have a choice. Who cares what the shithouse lawyers(loud mouths in crew rooms) says, when your new everyone knows the rules. However make a few friends, there are good ones, don’t be labeled at as rat because your quiet. if you get a 3 trip a put in and layup on the 3 at nlots(lots of them) suck it up. I don’t work here but I’d be in the A Div, less reporting locations that alone would be my reason for choosing.
  4. Anyone wondering at a commute from NJ. I am a bus op for njt on the 319 Line from PABT to Atlantic via Toms River. I pick up about 5 guys who live south of Toms River. 1 lives in Atlantic City, the other 4 live in Ocean County. If you show your ID we don’t charge you. One had washes the other however njt we don’t get the same treatment in the subway most of the time. Your only issue is if the bus breaks down. So that’s when driving becomes important depending on your preference. A lot of guys live along the 139 Line between Old Bridge and Lakewood. There’s a MTA bus op who lives in Cumberland County, NJ. I seen him last week going home.
  5. Nope. Private lines does not work on any njt bus. However on the hybrids 4008-4044 all lines including private lines work. https://photos.app.goo.gl/TBswrxEQknMnRx5Y7
  6. 6205 is in service at Salem County Transit, it was tracking on the 468 today. 6201-6204 I haven’t seen at eht and that my assigned garage. I’ll check Friday when I go back. 6197-6200 will go to Washington Twp.
  7. Meadowlands wants the artics on the 119 now. Those ppl deserve them. The crowds have seemed less with all them artics out there. 126 runs frequently enough to where you don’t need them imo
  8. Because they want the work filled. You asked the right question and there ain’t nothing they can do.
  9. Contract states you are to be qualified before doing any route. You are not to just take a route description and do the line. You get into an accident 1. You going to get min 4 points 2. Your distracted driving which turns into improper operation write up on top of the accident. They pay you to learn the line 3x. This is the problem I have with the new ppl coming in they trying to save the day. Learn the line properly with an operator who knows the line that way you learn it correctly and you follow along with the route description as your learning. Most older guys will take you out there.
  10. If you out of any of the northern garages that go into New York you can come out as any pabt line in your garage. if you pick a work run/combo you can go on as a 308 and come out as a 114X just to use Ironbound as an example. There are are straight runs but you have to look at the paddle because you have header lines like rhe 139 but 25 on the 139 is all 319.
  11. DOT is out for blood. They didn’t come out during pandemic if at all, now they are popping up at the most random spots now.
  12. Saturdays you shouldn’t have an issue, and weekends 319s are usually 10-15min early to Toms River. The beach traffic starts Wednesday afternoon and lasts until Friday night.
  13. Connections from 139(Old Bridge-Howell) Connections to/from Manahawkin 559 to 319 Connections from Lakewood via the 139/559 Connections from 67L or X Atlantic City connections to Jersey City and Newark and Freehold Penn Plaza workers do not want the 67B 137 is not a full time line, it’s main purpose is rush hour and weekends to allow Toms River ppl to get an empty bus but it’s never enough people to warrant more weekend service. Most of the parkway express 137s are discontinued in the summer because of the 319. 137 Lakewood via Dorodo & Ramp Stop, and 137 Brick Twp local via Dorodo & Ramp stop remain.
  14. The nabis on the mci line is due to a scheduling conflict with mcis not getting back in time.
  15. still slated to be by june, which could mean anytime in june.
  16. And I’m going to say good riddance those 18000s are terrible at best. You guys have the updated ISX12s 19150s on up. The low 19000s you have are just like the 18000s.
  17. 4 by Howell in the off season and 9 in the summer. Meadowlands has 2 trippers down, and 7 full runs. Weekends Howell does the 2 Howell trippers as full jobs. Gates 309-313 are No CNG buses. 137 express boards at 319 with cngs.
  18. Lack of parts that are on back order. Currently egg Harbor only has 4 of the 11 lavs available for service. 18109 is on the 830 from PABT. And 2 Eht lavs broke down yesterday. Honestly idk how any of these 18000-21000s are passing dot inspections. Give the 22000s a few more months when the oem parts start to need replacing and they’ll be in the same boat. The transmission control unit on the 18000-22000s are a big issue. 18098 is on its 2nd transmission because of that and currently out of service. 18099 transmission control unit went yesterday.
  19. Same with the CRT it’s basically a J series with the height of a D4500CT. As of now NJT is working with MCI to change the drivers area for the D45 CRT LE. NJT spec team is looking to change a lot. The first D45 CRT will go to Egg Harbor/Washington Twp/Newton Av and Meadowlands, which push the 18000s to Market St and Wayne. I honestly think they should put 4008-4044 in Market Street.
  20. And the 23 and a ton of runs on combos. Some 119s are scheduled for artics and some are nabis.
