  1. You still have your dignity. You retired and still have your life, while some stay around until they don’t have there dignity after retirement. It might be hard but you can still go out as you did. Don’t let anything stop you, enjoy your life and i salute you for your years of service in public transportation.
  2. That idiot that got kicked off the train by employees is a total disgrace to civil railfans and disrespectful to the employees. If it doesn’t return I wouldn’t even be upset. I feel bad for the crew who had to put up with that mess.
  3. When they put those steel rims it f**ked up the suspension. Njt buses are not designed to run with steel rims. A bus with steel rims has to be built from factory; also it adds weight. 18118-119 run like crap. The other 17000s they are still in bad shape.
  4. The only garage that’s technically in central jersey is Hamilton Garage, and even that’s a hairline into central. NJ is literally a north and south. People that say central want to feel important that they don’t live in north or south. The south-north split is on a weird angle around Long Branch going through freehold and back west just under Hamilton but north of Trenton.
  5. Nabis run on the 160 every weekend. Been so for the last couple years.
  6. It’s a shame how this bus(21326) looks, dirt black rims. Same with 21301. Oil all over the white rear.
  7. They have been cutting lines that have the least ridership first. Usually the depot masters will ask operators that know passengers patterns well on which ones they can cut.
  8. Nj is a political state and njt would never have that power. It’s so political that local towns that want new buses will tell njt. None of those towns market st lines run in care about the buses so it’ll be a while before that depot ever sees new buses. Oradell was the same way not just because of space. When the hybrids came 4008-4044, cape may county was complaining the buses was too loud so egg harbor got the first batch of new buses first. Then the towns in Cumberland County complained the hybrids was tearing up the roads due to the weight, then the hybrids had to be moved to Ironbound and EHT got the 18000s along with Washington Twp. Also Sea Isle City and Avalon complained the hybrids was the reason the Townsend Inlet bridge was deteriorating due to weight. Egg Harbor received hybrids then 18000s. And Newton Av got 19000s.
  9. Correct, if you think it’s safe you stop but if the company goes out and says different you could be terminated; depending of how bad the accident is. Me I only stop at bus stops, don’t like it, call. The bus stop protects you and if a accident occurs; there is nothing the company can do to you.
  10. That’s exactly what I’m saying. Njt does not put up the signs, the towns are responsible for that as well. The towns at any moment can call njt and say your buses have to now make a right instead of a left effective immediately. NJT is very political. The 504/505 line for example should be 40ft lines but people complained to the town saying 40ft buses was destroying the roads and cracking the walls in houses, so njt had to start ordering 30ft buses way back when. Service ends in certain areas at midnight or shortly after because the buses wake people up. The 163/164/167/165/166 look at how frequent those lines are but after 9pm they become spotty. Those towns they travel through have noise ordinances; NJT has to adhere to the town being tax payers pay for njt.
  11. Yes It’s up to the town, they are the ones who control where the signs and courtesy stops go. Some lines serve towns by accident because it has to use the road to get through the route. In towns where there are no stop signs, it’s because it’s served by accident; so the local town government will make a certain location a courtesy stop if there are a few people in that town that is served by accident.
  12. Any time you want to get off at a non bus stop you must ask the operator and it’s his/her decision to determine if it’s safe, such as a shoulder being available, well lit area, and low trees that he/she could possibly hit; so just be mindful of that and don’t get upset if he/she says no. Stops that show up on the GPS but there is no sign, was determined by the township that buses can stop under operator decision. All bus stops that have a sign any time the bell is rung we must stop and if someone is standing there but at a courtesy stop you must wave the bus down.
  13. In this situation they use gate 305 which is a gate that can fit the XD60s.
  14. Hilton has a tripper that does the 107 in and the 126 out.
  15. No. Meadowlands has trippers and combos on the 156/159. Most of which are in the AMs.
  16. Here’s me in 16001 and 17070. Credit to Murphy Productions for filming me.
  17. 16001 is a demo for the 17000 series 16002 is a servicemen/mechanic training bus. Will never see service. 16003 is a demo for the 18,19,20,21, and 22 series. More so for the 360 camera system. 17185, 19119-19127 are X12 demos.
  18. Yup it’s done. Such a shame all the money put into repainting, a new front, rebuilt inside, new air lines, the whole 9. Just a shame.
  19. I don’t use them cameras I flip them up and cover the digital speedo with a ticket envelope. Wait til they start banging you guys with the live feed they won’t be so fun any more. Stop all all yellow lights and come to a complete stop at all stop signs and RR crossing. Enjoy!
