  1. For the coming back. Just hold up on that. IT COULD, but no one is saying it WILL. So chances are flat. Just saying this, because then it ill end up into a rumor (like it is now) and then lead to problems. For the , that wont even come in until at least Phase 3 of the 2nd Avenue Subway, which god knows when that ill happen.
  2. I sort of agree here. I like the R32s and the old cars, but its not about what we want, its about making the riders feel happy and safe.. Plus so all these railfans can stop fighting over old vs new already. << This gets annoying!
  3. This should of been posted in the other NYC Subway forum, since its news pretty much. But going back. Hopefully this completes WITHOUT a problem. Im not caring about any extensions to the Bronx or Brooklyn at this time. Rather focus on helping to get the IRT Lexington Avenue Line a bit of relief. At least up 96th Street.
  4. There are 3-4 tracks on the NEC(Bronx), its all used by freight service as I mentioned. And if a Subway is built along the Corridor, it is subject to FRA. If a connection occurs. Not sure.
  5. Now? No way, Been a Bronx resident for years now lol. I thought you were from SI? But im good since I have service all over. But it sucks that those around the Bronx have no Subway access. Only Bus and the Rails.(Except Parkchester through Throgs Neck.)
  6. HBLR still shares some of the ROW with freight lines, if im correct. Within Bayonne. Same for Newark Light rail sharing Norfolk tracks. But you do have it right. SEPTAs Trolly Lines are not even a Light Rail Line, just Street cars which has little of its own ROW, and the Subway.
  7. An expansion for the 2nd Avenue Subway to the Bx or Bk, I DON'T see for a very long time. The way finance is these days, not possible. Plus the MTA would have to go through the communities and see if things will work out. Those on 2nd Avenue are pissed off over the building of the Line, due to health concern and noise. But im sure they will ACCEPT it once its done. The 2nd Avenue Line via Hell Gate/NEC Line, isn't a bad idea, but then the line maybe be subjected to FRA. That line is owned by Amtrak, so the MTA can't just go and do what it wants. Plus the media has to remember that there is Fright service on that line sometimes, which use the un-electrified tracks, coming out of Oak Point Yard and Hunts Point, the Bronx. TBH, the MTA shouldn't worry much about the Bronx, as we can handle it. Maybe Metro-North service along the NEC will do. Staten Island NEEDs some support here. People only have the SIRTOA (1 Line) and Local bus via Ferry to get to Manhattan. Other options is the S53/79/98 via the , Express Bus service or car. The MTA President, thinks SBS will solve all this. Not entirely, since people will still have a longer commute to get to Manhattan. Unless he can come up with a plan to allow SBS to run via I95/NJ495 combo or I278 directly to Manhattan out of SI, without paying a premium for Express Bus service. Or an extension of the SIRTOA into Brooklyn I would prefer also seeing the extension of the NJT HBLR into SI, rather then making the S89 a Select Bus.. We do have service, even tho there ARE spots in the Bronx under served and replaced by Bus Service. No Subway Service in: -Riverdale or Spuyten area of the Bronx (Except the via Bus, or Metro-North Hudson. The Hudson Line for those areas is used higher compared to those on the Park Avenue Mainline (excluding Fordham). ) -Along Webster and 3rd Avenue. (Alternatives would be the Bus and/or to the Concourse, Jerome and White Plains Road Line or Metro-North, but ridership isn't to high) -Co-op City, Throgs Neck, Locus Point, Country Club. (Requires Bus service and/or to the Pelham Line) -Going Crosstown in the Bronx requires Bus Service or and/or Bx12+Select.
  8. On a school night too. hahaha. I could of sworn both 6th And 8th Avenue Lines were to be done at the same time, with one way in each direction for service. And the could run via 8th Avenue Local with the and from Queens to West 4th. (If there is no G/O along the 53rd Corridor) The might end up getting split to 2nd Avenue, because there is no way in hell it'll get back to the Manhattan Bridge Line after Broadway / Lafayette St. Southbound.
  9. Happy Birthday BX55 +Select ;)! Enjoy being 100% LLLLEEEEEEEEEGALLLLLLL :P

  10. Actually, thats unknown yet. Because past g/os the had to run Local. During late nights without construction. I remembered when the and swapped, I had to go Lcl along Lex northbound. But will see.
  11. I wonder if there will be trains ending at Bowling Green between 8 and 10pm, or all (5)s will continue to go to Flatbush After PM rush ends. Im sure the will run local with the and . No need to turn the at 125th Street. Seen it before.
  12. Why not just place them back on the [10cars] and have some R46s run on the like before? Or does the line crew dislike the R32s (as ive heard)
  13. Cool i caught 7220 on the 20th going north at Howard. Even tho it came out of no where.............
  14. Nice photo to the creators... But i rather wait and see. Too much rumors going up and down, which is driving me nuts. I dont see a purpose of a MAJOR overhaul for the R32s (regardless of paint scheme) if its going to be in service till 2016-2017. (Last set in 2017 likely, unless they keep pushing its service dates). Only mechanical features is whats needed for overhaul. Everything else I don't see a purpose.
  15. Update on the R188: First R-188 conversion set is on property Seems like they finally hit the system.
  16. Where did you hear this from? Just wanna make sure. The Bold btw.
  17. Thx for the update! I sorta forgot, but did the R42s already had its SMS or is till pending? True. But knowing the MTA, they wont place it on a line us buffs would prefer. Its all about the commuters who ride them., where its safe and needed to place them
  18. Coolness! Gotta keep track of that! I wonder if ether the BX15, BX19 or BX36 would be first for training?
  19. Overnights on the ELs i dont like. Theres gonna be noise problems for those living next to one! While the late night cuts might be a good idea. Id also put some expansion to weekend as well, but LIMITED g/os. This way things can get done faster during the day and night, rather then just every night. Even with all these changes, this doesnt mean G/os will be done for good! More work every day!
  20. Just to update. Those who didn't get contacted / received the admission card, must wait until Jan 1st, 2011. The test is being divided to other dates as well, besides Nov 7 (as per a customer service rep). It seems like a LOT of people must of applied. No info on how many.. If you dont get the card by Jan 1st, you need to call them back. Heres the number you can call for questions, etc.. 347-643-8085
  21. I and a few others didnt get it. Ether I wasn't selected or its late in the mail. Im gonna head to Brooklyn today to see if I got accepted. Especially since it says if you didnt get the admission card, to head down to Livingston Street.
  22. the Hamster place if i shall say.. Since he mentions he likes TGs so hes "g*y"

Besides i wouldnt imagine if that other dude was Javier, if u know who he is/

  23. Happy Birthday and Enjoy!

  24. It may take a breakup to prop up T-Mobile USA Inc. The telecom company could come away with billions of dollars in cash and services if an acquisition bid from rival AT&T Inc. falls through; that's a real possibility after the Justice Department on Wednesday moved to block the deal on antitrust grounds. If the $39-billion deal disintegrates, AT&T would have to pay more than $3 billion in cash to T-Mobile's German parent, Deutsche Telekom, along with airwaves and a roaming agreement worth billions more. The situation is ironic: AT&T's attempt to become the largest wireless carrier in the U.S. could ultimately help strengthen its rival. T-Mobile, the nation's fourth-largest carrier, is known as a scrappy, price-oriented telecom player. A major payout could turn it into a much larger threat. "It would put T-Mobile on better competitive footing," said Steve Clement, senior research analyst with Pacific Crest. "T-Mobile's stand-alone basis would strengthen and AT&T's options would weaken."
