  1. If you were to look at this webpage, the last certification from DCAS (Dept. of Citywide Administrative Services) for the titles of Bus Operator, Conductor and Track Worker was back on August 10th, 2022. In addition, if you look at this page, there was a TA Bus Operator class in December of 2022. Therefore, if I had to take an educated guess, the answer is no. With that said, is anyone interested in complaining about this? If so, send me a Private Message (PM) and we will take it from there. Happy Holidays!!
  2. https://www.nytransitmuseum.org/nostalgiarides/ (Facebook Posting) Enjoy and Happy Posting!!
  3. My list number for the same examination is also in the 300's, and, if I have to take an educated guess, I would say they will call us within the next three to six months, maybe sooner. Here are the reasons why, at least from my prospective: -First, when we get the initial e-mail, in which they will ask us to fill out this pre-employment packet, not everyone is going to respond. -Second, not everyone is going to either have their Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) or Commercial Learner Permit (CLP) with the "P" (Passenger) Endorsement and no other disqualifying restrictions, such as "L," "N1" or "N2." I've personally seen people turned away because of this. For those of you who live in New York, if you want to see the full list, click here and scroll to the bottom of the second page. In addition, you cannot have more than two [2] accidents on your abstract and less than four [4] points on your abstract. (If you need help getting your CLP, refer to the instructions within the blue box towards the top of the webpage.) -Third, not everyone is going to pass the drug screening, the physical and final processing. Back in 2014, I got diagnosed with something, and, since I failed the 10-Day Training Session back then, I haven't seen the specialist for this "diagnosis" in years, which no one else seems to notice!! -Finally, not everyone is going to pass the 10-Day Training Session. And for those who do not pass the 10-Day Training session, as I learned the hard way within the past 2 to 3 years, the Department of Buses will produce a memorandum, without the applicant's knowledge, in which, according to the last sentence, with the exception of a typographical error, "are not recommended for rehire in any (other) title." On top of that, with the fact that the people who failed the 10-Day Training Session can not try again for five [5] years, which is mentioned in this post towards the bottom, you'll see how hard and challenging it is, when this entire country is short on Commercial Drivers to begin with. Just play around on Indeed, the results are self-explanatory. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Good luck!!
  4. If you haven't heard anything, just wait. With the fact that the agency did not hire off of Exam 2611 the last time around, it seems that your list number for this particular examination is on the "high" side, meaning that they did not get to you. Therefore, when they reach out to you, be prepared to start from scratch, including handing in a newer version of your pre-employment packet. If you electonically saved the last one, all you need to do is update the information (if necessary), change the date, and you should be good to go! If you wish to speak to someone to confirm this, call DCAS at 212-669-1357. Press option "0" and ask to speak to the List, Management and Audit unit, Monday to Friday, in between 9 AM and 5 PM. Source? There is a TA class starting this Sunday out of Zerega, right? According to this webpage, the last certification was over three [3] months ago...this doesn't sound right... (My apologies if I criticize you, I'm just trying to be as accurate as possible, that's all.)
  5. Although I am not here to criticize you, I do have a few things to say based on your last post: -First of all, from reading the posts of other members, if you call them, they will do whatever they need to do to get off the phone with you as fast as possible. My strong suggestion is to check out this webpage (in which you can type either your last name or "Bus Operator" into the search box) or this webpage. After all, this is "Civil Service," and, it would not be fair to someone who restored their name to a prior list, such as 7612 or 9604 if the agency calls you first before them. After all, just like with other City agencies, the Dept. of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) needs to certify a list of names to the agency, such as New York City Transit, before they can hire people. (As far as 4600 is concerned, as of now, this list is set to expire in early January, so we will see what happens, respectively.) -Second, you are aware that there are only six [6] more weeks left in this 2022 calendar year, right? Therefore, your second sentence does not sound right, especially if the HR Department does not "certify" a list of names within the next week. -Third, mind I ask, when did you take your last drug (urine) test? When did you go for your physical, also known as the medical examination? The reason why I am asking is because the drug (urine) tests are good for thirty (30) calendar days, and the physicals and the pre-employment paperwork are good for ninety (90) calendar days. Therefore, you will probably and most likely have to start from scratch. The good news is that, if you have your pre-employment packet electronically saved, you just need to update your information (if necessary), change the date, and you should be good to go. Good luck!! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
  6. First, I moved the thread and/or topic to the Transit Employment Section. Second, perhaps @SevenEleven can shed some light on this issue? Third, I do have a resource or two who could help you out, however I do not want to share their name on this public Forum. Therefore, if you can send me a Private Message (PM), I would be more than happy to elaborate on this potential resource. (If you're unsure on how to do this, click on the bubble icon on the top right, and click on "Compose New.") Good luck!!
  7. To make a long story short: If you took a drug (urine) test, including at 180 Livingston Street, within the past two [2] years, fill it out. If you never took a drug (urine) test within the past two [2] years, just leave the form blank. (For those of you who have no clue what we are talking about, kindly refer to page 14 of this PDF document.) Good luck!!
  8. Unfortunately, I have some bad news to share: According to this post from the Bus Operator 9618 thread, the agency will not be hiring any more Bus Operators until the first quarter of the 2023 calendar year, which can be anytime between January 3rd and March 31st, 2023. As I stated in my previous post, which can be found right above this one, since this is for a Civil Service Position, the agency has to give preference to the people who are on the lists for Exam 4600 (if they decide to extend it for another year), Exam 7612, Exam 9604, Exam 9618, Exam 2611, and then Exam 2612. Therefore, although they will probably and most likely not hire off of Exam 2612 in between now and March of 2023, hopefully the agency will establish the list for Exam 2612 during this time frame. However, only time will tell. Sorry @Nico718. Although I hate to be the bearer of bad news, I strive to be as accurate as possible whenever I can, based on the posts of other members.
  9. They do pre-employment drug (urine) testing on a Sunday? Interesting... Good luck!!
  10. I believe you got the examination numbers confused. This past August, we took Exam # 2614, and I took Exam # 3601 within the past couple of weeks. As far as waiting to hear back, if you filled out your "Candidate's Record of Answers," I am personally waiting for them to post the Proposed Answer Keys on this webpage. As far as how long we have to wait until we get our official results, including our list numbers, I would say a full calendar year, give/take a few months, depending on the status of the other lists from Exams 2611, 2612 and 2613. As far as waiting to hear back without being annoying, I would check this webpage on a regular basis, which you can do by either typing your last name or the examination number into the search box. As soon as the list is established, and before we even get our results in the mail, they will post all of the information on that webpage, including the total number of people that are on the list. My apologies in regards to the late reply, however, if you are referring to the text that is in bold and in italics in this post, this is the story: If you look at the original Notice of Examination, you will see that the agency was, at one point, anticipated on "hiring provisional Bus Operators approximately two months after each examination period ends." Unfortunately, they changed their mind in which these five (not six) examinations are going to become regular Civil Service Examinations, as per the updated Notice of Examination. Therefore, as per Civil Service rules, the agency has to give preference to those folks who are on the lists for Exam 4600, followed by Exam 7612, followed by Exam 9604, followed by Exam 9618, followed by Exam 2611, and then Exam 2612. However, if you look at this webpage, and if you type "2611" into the search box, you will see that the list for Exam 2611 was established this past July. Although, according to this post, they did not hire anyone off of Exam 2611 as of this typing. Therefore, it's a waiting game. Although this is a City position, will they hire off of Exam 2612 within the next six months? My educated guess: No. Hopefully within the next six months they will establish the list for Exam 2612, however, only time will tell. Sorry...
  11. Would you mind sharing the exam number that you are hoping to get hired off of? If it's for Train Operator, Exam # 7604, according to this website (just type 7604 into the search box), the list has been extended until September 19th, 2023. I just sent you a Private Message. If you can please send me a reply, I would truly appreciate it.
  12. It sounds like, because you are a "bigger guy," they want you to get a sleep study done because of your "neck size." My apologies about the historic posts, however, this particular post came to my mind as soon as I read what you typed. Back in 2017, somebody posted the name of a physician who does sleep studies overnight without going through your insurance or your Primary Care Physician or anything to that nature, which you can find here. I also read that this physician will give you the results instantly, which the MAC (Medical Assessment Center) accepts. Good luck!!
  13. My apologies for "bumping" this thread, however, according to this webpage, this list has been extended to October 17th, 2023. In addition, I also included instructions in the blue announcement box for those who wish to restore their name to the Civil Service List as well. Good luck everyone!!
  14. Interesting... (212) 669 1357. Select option "2," enter your nine digit Social Security Number and follow the prompts. If you need to speak to someone, I would strongly recommend to call this number at either 9:00 or 9:05 AM, press "0" and ask for the List, Management and Audit unit. If you try calling after this time, you might be on hold for an hour or two waiting to speak to someone, depending on how "lucky" you are. Good luck!!
  15. My sincere condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you, especially during the next couple of days and weeks. I will be sending you a Private Message (PM) shortly. If you can send me a reply, I would appreciate it. As far as the pictures of the routes are concerned, here they are for The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. In addition to printing out the maps, which are located towards the end of the PDF documents, you have to rely on "landmarks" as well. Here are a few examples: For the Q88, going Southbound, you make a left turn onto 73rd Avenue, which is where Alley Park ends. (If you don't believe me, do a Google Search of Springfield Blvd and 73rd Avenue). -For the same route, you make a right turn once you see a shopping center which is perpendicular of 73rd Avenue, which is along 188th Street. -For the same route, be prepared to make a left turn onto Horace Harding Expressway (Westbound) after you go through the two roundabouts on 188th Street, after servicing the Bus Stop at 188th Street/Horace Harding Expressway (Eastbound). For the Q44-SBS in Jamaica, going Southbound: -You make a left turn onto Queens Boulevard after passing Archbishop Molloy High School and the Briarwood branch of the Queens Public Library. -You make a left turn onto Hillside Avenue, after passing the Ford dealership, where you will see a Mobil Gas Station and a KFC Fast Food Place across the street. (Going Northbound, there is a Toyota dealership which you can't miss, which is where you make the right turn). -You make a right turn onto Sutphin Blvd. at the "T" intersection, where the HSBC bank is located. -You make a left turn onto Archer Avenue right before the overpass, which consist of the multiple tracks for the Jamaica LIRR Station. Finally, if you need help figuring out what routes your Depot operate, click here or here. I have used "landmarks" in the private sector at my various jobs, and they have been nothing but "wonders." Again, @misslo, my sincere condolences. I know how you feel, especially since I went through the same thing close to 8 1/2 years ago.
  16. Have you considered watching this YouTube video, especially the first four minutes and forty seconds? What's good is that for Day 9, there is no pre-trip whatsoever. Therefore, if you get it, great! If not, just focus on everything else and you'll focus more on this after the initial 10-Day training session and your road test. As far as the buttons with the symbols, have you considered looking at the handouts, specifically the third to last image in the first post? As far as the indicators, also known as directional signals, it is standard for Transit buses to have them at the driver's left feet. Although you are training on an Orion bus, if you watch this YouTube video at approximately 4 minutes, 18 seconds to 4 minutes, 20 seconds, and if you view this post, they are located in the same place on the Gilligan and New Flyer Transit buses as well. Similarly, if you check out this picture, which comes from this website, the Nova buses are very similar as well. Sorry. Good luck!! If you have any other questions, or if you are unsure of anything, please do not hesitate to ask.
  17. Good luck to all of those that were at Zerega today! Please do not forget to keep us updated! (And yes, I do check the various Employment Topics as an anonymous guest more often than logging in, respectively.) So if this is the case, then, according to the first page of this PDF document, why did the agency administer five [5] Civil Service Examinations for this title within a six-month period, when our Commercial Learners Permits (CLPs) are good for one [1] calendar year, before we have to take the examinations over again at the Department of Motor Vehicles? Interesting...
  18. Yesterday, I took the Civil Service Exam for Sanitation Worker at the Queens Computer-based Testing and Application Center (CTAC). Since I was early, I decided to walk over to Queens Blvd and 82nd Avenue. Although this webpage mentions that the R-33 Subway car was sold for over $230,000 a few months ago, believe it or not, as you can see in the pictures, the Subway car is still there, without the fence or the wooden platform that was set up. Enjoy!!
  19. As per the guidelines of the website, if you can please post in the relevant thread/topic, which can be found here, which consists of over 10,000 posts, it would be appreciated. Thank you!
  20. Although I hear and understand your frustration, you know that this is actually a federal requirement, right? Click here for more details. As a friendly reminder, here are the TA Bus Operator Lists that are currently active as of this typing: -Exam # 4600 - Established 1/6/2016, expires 1/6/2023 -Exam # 7612 - Established 10/17/2018, expires 10/17/2022 -Exam # 9604 - Established 11/27/2019, expires 11/27/2023 -Exam # 9618 - Established 9/8/2021, expires 9/8/2025 -Exam # 2611 - Established 7/20/2022, expires 7/20/2026 If you are unsuccessful in calling on Monday, you know that you have to restore your name to the list, right?
