  1. For new 40' buses, I don't think there is any recommended award or public bids placed yet.
  2. Alright, I hope this proves to be a good idea, and I hope this goes as well and organized as the Repaint/Wrapped thread. Please list in an organized way, any interlines you've seen in person or found on HopStop or any other way. If you are unsure of one, please don't say anything until its confirmed. Please only list one interline per line. Leave lines between each one you post. THIS IS NOT A PROPOSALS OR IDEAS THREAD. THIS IS SIMPLY FACT. Hopefully, this thread works out. I'll start with a few. 5:50pm N24 Hicksville (from Jamaica) turns into 7:45pm N79 Walt Whitman @ Hicksville LIRR 7:30pm N80 Hicksville (from Sunrise Mall) turns into 8:10pm N73 Wantagh @ Hicksville LIRR 8:30pm N80 Hicksville (from Sunrise Mall) turns into 9:24pm N22 Jamaica @ Hicksville LIRR
  3. According to Hopstop, I got that the last n73 to Wantagh (8:10 pm) interlines from the 7:30 pm N80 Hicksville-bound bus. Very interesting.
  4. Interesting, I wonder where they got that information. It is certainly possible since the n15 Long Beach service starts at Hempstead at that time of the morning.
  5. I gather the new signs would look like the new NICE ones that are up at Walt Whitman Mall already, right?

  7. Those things are gas guzzlers, and NICE gets them. Unbelievable, throwing money away. Why do they need 4x4 6 cylinders specifically anyway?
  8. http://www.nicebus.com/About_NICE/Procurement/index.html Bid V-1139A : AWARDED (20) Year 2013 4-Door SUVs 4x4 or All Wheel Drive (6 cylinder) Recommended Award: Van Bortel Ford, Inc. // $562,480
  9. Oh yeah, and just why should I trust you? I really don't care where the money comes from, but a working website with working notifications would be NICE.
  10. That has absolutely nothing to do with anything. I have my own views, separate from anyone else here. I'll keep my number private
  11. Thats nice, but if you relied on NICE daily and needed to know when your bus wasn't going to show, and you didn't get your alert, then you wouldn't say they're doing a half bad job.
  12. Someone in school was just blasting Who Says by Selena Gomez. Recognized it pretty fast.
  13. Nope. The is smart. Besides, the NICE site is not as intelligently coded as the site. There are glitches with some of the things. For example, you can create an account on the NICE site and sign up to get notifications by e-mail on routes you choose of service disruptions. I've been signed up since last year and I have yet to get a single notification. Again, NICE probably doesn't have the $$$ to spend on an expensive website.
  14. When a site is indexed publicly, you can go to any directory and view all the files and folders without needing links to each one of the files. On some sites that don't allow this, you'll get a "Forbidden" error. However, with NICE, if you visit the link below: http://nicebus.com/_meta/ You can view the files and pages on their site.
  15. 1713 looks good: http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Zcgbu38iYM
  16. Yea, you give the transfer you get from NICE or Bus and you give that to the SCT operator when you board the bus and they put them somewhere.
  17. The transfers have the logo on them like this, but I don't think they ever had "Long Island Bus" written on them.
  18. I wonder if NICE knows their site is being indexed publicly.
  19. N48 from June schedule: http://www.nicebus.com/_meta/route_pdf/NICE-n48-49_MapSchedule.pdf N48 schedule now: http://www.nicebus.com/_meta/Dec30pdfs/NICE-n48-49_Dec30Schedule.pdf Good for you for believing the transit master.
  20. Could be, could be... there must be some sort of inconvenience of painting/wrapping the buses since they're all not in NICE livery after a year.
  21. It's getting harder and harder to see: 1. Orion Vs 2. NGs that are still in LIB livery 3. Destination signs with a capital "N"
  22. I think the buses look better with a depot sticker on them. But NICE doesn't care what the buses want because they took away the depot stickers.. BAD PEOPLE! Yea, I've noticed that, especially with Newsday, they tend to switch between the names often. NICE at the community meetings has always called it Mitchel Field from what I've seen. For me too, it will always be Mitchel Field.
  23. It really depends where you're looking and what you're talking about. The building itself and the older V CNGs recognize it as the Norman J. Levy Transit Facility because it was originally named after him. The NGs all had Mitchel Field stickers. When the started to consolidate things in Regional Bus Operations, the depot needed a shorter nickname to recognize its location, so they decided to use Mitchel Field because of the air field close by.
