  1. They're covered up, but what I meant was depot assignments don't mean anything. Buses are going in/out of both depots between both depots.
  2. Trading between depots is happening more often now, from what I've seen. I've seen 1800s in the high 30s that were originally sent to RVC on the n20. Those depot stickers mean nothing now.
  3. The Q12 should not be merged with any route. Take that advice from someone who lives in the area. We had this conversation before and QJ got the thread locked, remember? People in Little Neck and Douglaston take cabs and car services to LGA. Theres a base for them at the Little Neck LIRR station where many are parked. An LGA route would not prove its usefulness from here. As for the extension to Great Neck area, that idea has also been spoken about before, but the probably wouldn't do it given NICE takes much of that service already, just does a crappy job.
  4. Something is seriously wrong with the quoting feature. NICE isn't getting that much ad revenue as it is. A lot of the buses just have NICE service announcements and old BusTalk ads.
  5. No, I believe 1760 got into an accident during the beginning of NICE. You can see this video, 1760, last day of LIB, still has the stripe: http:// Yes, they need to take the Sleepy's ads off. Maybe with half the ad on there, they get half the revenue
  6. That is one beautiful bus! Do you know if that is wrap or paint on the bus?
  7. Wait, what? So there is some driver at NICE who brings a photo of 2969 with him every day and puts it at the front of bus? Why? How long has this been going on?
  8. Usual deadhead I see, to/from Flushing to Nassau County. This particular bus was heading to Nassau at about 12:30 pm.
  9. Rockville Centre would never allow for all the NG CNGs to go to Mitchel Field. What would happen one day if all the Vs just didn't start? That would pose a huge problem and is the reason why the buses are split between the two depots. Not equally of course because Rockville Centre handles less routes, but even being a weekday garage, where the routes are at their busiest point, is busy enough to need to have the back up NGs in case.
  10. I'm so mad I didn't get a pic, but I saw a 1700 today deadheading on the LIE that had the destination sign set to the U.S. Open code.
  11. As I write this, I'm on an Orion VII HEV #6445 that is stuck in the loop around on the Q36 in Little Neck because parked cars make the road so narrow. We're stuck right on a turn because the VII is such a wide bus.
  12. Alright, well, nobody cry when I say this, but I saw two NICE buses being towed tonight. One was 1822 that broke down in Bayside on Northern Blvd, heading eastbound. The other was traveling eastbound on Northern Blvd and I saw it drive by (no idea where it broke down), and it was a 3G, I think in the 1850s. I could tell by the vent on the back and the number on the side windows.
  13. Have they been programmed for the 3Gs yet to announce stops? By not on, do you mean the Stop Requested announcement wasn't on either?
  14. If you're talking about Rahul Kumar at NICE, he is the route design manager and is responsible for many of the route changes that we saw in 2012, including the cutback of the n27. He's a young guy. In my opinion, he doesn't know as much as he should. He doesn't necessarily do the scheduling.
  15. I saw 1746 drive by Douglaston Plaza today and go northbound on Douglaston Pkwy.
  16. The wrap on the back was probably peeling off, so NICE just pulled the entire back wrap off. While they were at it, they should have just pulled all the wrap off of 1753 and painted it.
  17. Make what rush hours only? The n35 certainly won't be rush hours only nor the n43. Both of those are busy in the middle of the day, I know!
  18. True, but given 2012, NICE is unpredictble with some things. The N37 however is a no-brainer because that is not coming back.
  19. I don't know who exactly you were referring to, whether the , NICE, or Helena Williams, but I think its really a joint effort with the and NICE because they have to inform eachother of any changes.
  20. Ok, I used the wrong phrasing, but Nassau hires a vendor to manage the bus stops and bus shelters in the county, so it is still their responsibility.
