  1. Those are the buses that the chose to get for LIB given the funds available from the county and state. Orion has a good record with CNG cleanliness emissions and good mileage, so I guess that's why they chose Orion. The specific V and VII models were just chosen given the time they were purchased and what Orion was manufacturing at the time!
  2. Orion V 6047 from CS is currently broken down with a NYCT repair truck and NYCT vehicle sitting behind it at the Northern Blvd and Alaneda Ave Q12 bus stop!
  3. People I've talked to who live down in Long Beach would rather go to their beach than Jones Beach.
  4. Yeah, NICE has been experimenting with the Clever Devices since April 8th. I know, when I rode the N55 the first or second weekday after April 8th, the door announcements had been changed to "N55 Amityville."
  5. Guy Dancing while waiting for what looks like the N80: NOT MY VIDEO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm69i9ZrrHg
  6. 1st: Roslyn/ Mineola Ave2nd: Hicksville LIRR Station 3rd: Roslyn Clock Tower
  7. Now this is some bunching on the N20, just recorded today, an hour ago by me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJya3Edr0jM
  8. Did they use typewriters to create bus schedules back then?
  9. Not really, It's hard to create a successful bus for that long a distance to the airport from Nassau County. Flights are taking off at all different times of the day and night, and that means bus service would have run 24 hrs/day to work. But that's too expensive and ridership wasn't that high back when the Flyer still ran. And many people would rather take the faster way of the LIRR to Jamaica to the Airtrain.
  10. Remember back in April when NICE said they saved money to lessen the cuts by purchasing a new fuel contract. Now, I don't know much about fuel, but does a cheaper fuel contract mean the CNG fuel quality could be less? Like less clean or less efficient?
  11. Hound, can you also give us some more info on the situation at NICE? Is NICE really low on drivers? They missing a lot of runs?
  12. Yup, Section 1050.9, Rule #3LINK: http://www.mta.info/nyct/rules/rules.htm
  13. The 22x gets good ridership I hear too. Not full, but its get more than the N6x.
  14. Based on your insanity, we could all ask you the exact same question.
  15. The Union doesn't have the power or the information to hold a thorough and changing meeting for the NICE system.
  16. I've had the same problem. I suggest taking videos outside the fenced area, like when pulling in and out the driveways. I remember taking an LIB trip with you and security said something about us taking photos. They didn't want them. True, it is a public area. LOL @ the bathroom joke.
  17. I've had it done alot on the Q30 too. The driver knows we all have Student Metrocards, so she lets us board through the back w/o having to dip cards. She knows it doesn't make a big difference.
  18. Really? Wow, I didn't think they were that old. They were printing signs back then?
  19. I got a question. The Long Island Bus signs that are up and around the county now. When were they put up? I know the N43 was created in 2003 and those signs look different than the ones on the rest of the routes. So when were those signs put up around the county by the ?
  20. I'm gonna be honest. I've seen lines much worse for the n20 at Great Neck and for the N6 at Hempstead.
  21. Where's the video of the passengers waiting for the bus? All I see is a parked NYCT bus.
  22. QUESTION: I e-mailed the a while ago recommending a driver I saw daily always at the same time on the Q30 for the Apple Award. I got a reply saying the driver would receive the Apple Award. Then a day later, the driver just stopped showing up on that run. Do awarded drivers get new schedules or better runs or something?
