  1. I also was under the assumption that ENY was suppose to get the XD40's first
  2. ...so I hear that the 47xx's at 126th are going to JFK depot.
  3. We use white wheels because it makes it easier to spot damage (cracks, excess rust, elongated stud holes etc...)
  4. If they can squeeze them into ENY CMF, flatBush depot, and Casey Stengle, they can get them into MHV. The lifts are arranged in the old style. This means that all they would need to do is eliminate 1 lift and change the angle of 2 others, and they would have their Arctic lifts ( just like how they did it in ENY CMF).
  5. No, it is against the law for the MTA to use your criminal history against you during the hiring process. As long as you have a solid work history, you should be fine. I remember reading a story in the post about a guy who robbed a bank while employed by the NYPD. He got caught and did 11 years in prison. He is now a bus driver out of Jackie Gleason bus depot. If they hired him, you should have no problems...
  6. It's on loan to gunhill... since when is gunhill short on buses?
  7. Saw 5656 (the Frankenstein bus) on the Bx22 this morning with the Westfarms stickers still on it. Don't know if it's a permanent move or not. I'll check the computer when I get to work...
  8. This happens a lot actually. I think it's smart on their part to run standard buses on artic routes at a certain point in the night time.
  9. Decal? I didn't know they were still doing decals...If the bus has a straight blue stripe with no black paint at all, most likely it was painted in a depot. Depots don't get shipments of black paint for booths yet...
  10. Crosstown use to be a paint shop 2 years ago. It does not belong to the MTA anymore...
  11. If the driver would have hit something/somebody in this rain, they would have pinned it completely on him for not calling the broken wiper it....... ***just found out that the BYD bus will be coming back after they make a few NYCTA inspired changes...
  12. ???If you are referring in the LBSS in Allison transmissions, it has nothing to do with the gear ratio.
  13. I don't think any other manufacturers build artics for the US market, other than those expensive Citaro's..
  14. Does NJT have a heavy repair facility like the MTA (grand avenue, zerega, east new york)?
  15. I hear that the reason that the transit contract rally, that took place a few weeks ago, did not receive a lot of publicity due to the Governor asking the media to not to cover it...
  16. if I'm not mistaken, the NABI 416 is still in production. They just won't sell buses to the MTA...
  17. The fire suppression nozzles on an O5 are only in the engine and battery compartments.
  18. This let's me know that I'm either getting old, the the forum members are getting really young.
  19. I think you got Meredith and charleston confused, unless Meredith is now open on the weekends now.
  20. It got done at Grand Ave most likely, unless it was an accident repair. Zerega gets the 63xx's, 64xx's, artics, MCI's, and all of the TA/OA NG's for program and overhaul work. Grand Avenue gets all of the higher numbered OG hybrids, all of the CNG buses, a large majority of the engine rebuilds, majority of the small unit rebuilds, and a majority of the fabrication work. Work on non scheduled and accident buses get about a 60/40 split between the 2 with the larger portion going to grand ave.
