Eric B Posted July 24, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 24, 2009 How about a color changing sign, so you could have either, and others? (they claim the computers don't have the capacity for it).

Q43 Floral Park Posted July 24, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 24, 2009 I don't think so... They can't and it's better that way. Trying to decipher the green signs can be awful sometimes. IMO they should have gone with blue, something that stands out at all times of the day

Q43 Floral Park Posted July 26, 2009 Share #9 Posted July 26, 2009 The orange seems to be working out fine. Maybe its just me, but at times I find it hard to read. If its really bright outside or the sign is a little dim.
rmcconnell Posted July 26, 2009 Share #10 Posted July 26, 2009 Maybe its just me, but at times I find it hard to read. If its really bright outside or the sign is a little dim. I believe the signs have a dimming feature that automatically dims or brightens the LEDs to suit the exterior lighting. I don't find the orange LEDs to be difficult to read in bright sunlight at all. The most difficult signs to read are the later TMC/Nova RTS front signs (with the higher resolution) as the sunlight usually reflects off of the slanted glass panel and obscures the text. R32 3348 Posted July 26, 2009 Share #11 Posted July 26, 2009 I believe the signs have a dimming feature that automatically dims or brightens the LEDs to suit the exterior lighting. That explains it! Often times I'm walking down the street and watch a bus pass by, and a lot of the time the sign just randomly changes brightness...thanks for that info!
