How about a color changing sign, so you could have either, and others? (they claim the computers don't have the capacity for it).

They can't and it's better that way. Trying to decipher the green signs can be awful sometimes. IMO they should have gone with blue, something that stands out at all times of the day

Maybe its just me, but at times I find it hard to read. If its really bright outside or the sign is a little dim.

 

I believe the signs have a dimming feature that automatically dims or brightens the LEDs to suit the exterior lighting.

 

I don't find the orange LEDs to be difficult to read in bright sunlight at all. The most difficult signs to read are the later TMC/Nova RTS front signs (with the higher resolution) as the sunlight usually reflects off of the slanted glass panel and obscures the text.

That explains it! Often times I'm walking down the street and watch a bus pass by, and a lot of the time the sign just randomly changes brightness...thanks for that info!
