ttcsubwayfan Posted July 23, 2013 Share #52 Posted July 23, 2013 I take it the fact that they removed its rollsign means that preservation for these cars is nothing but a pipe dream at this point? Pity, pity. Congratulations, though... I have always wanted to own a rollsign from transit.
Grand Concourse Posted July 23, 2013 Share #53 Posted July 23, 2013 I agree, pity the cars were flooded due to Sandy. I had hoped they would've preserved that pair for historical reasons, but I guess not otoh, maybe if not as trains in the functional sense, then what about the car bodies? DJ MC Posted July 23, 2013 Share #54 Posted July 23, 2013 I agree, pity the cars were flooded due to Sandy. I had hoped they would've preserved that pair for historical reasons, but I guess not otoh, maybe if not as trains in the functional sense, then what about the car bodies? I hope it's still salvageable. I heard some T/Os went through a lot of trouble to save that pair.

Union Tpke Posted July 23, 2013 Share #56 Posted July 23, 2013 Couldn't they replace it with a rollsign from another R42 if the rest of the car wasn't scrapped yet. And you got very lucky. I wonder if anyone got 4460 yet.
