MTA Bus: Queens Busfanning -- 8/19/09 (56K Warning, times three!)

RTS CNG Command

Recommended Posts

(MAJOR ETA: Due to the amount of photos, I've changed the title and placed in a 56K warning!)

That day, I decided to do a major busfan trip in Queens, first by going to Flushing, then Corona, Rego Park/LeFrak City, and Elmhurst.

I'm going to first post the MTA Bus section, followed by MTA LIB and then MTA NYCT Bus.

Due to the 50-image limit, I'm putting all my MTA Bus photos in groups. This is the first group. The second group will be uploaded shortly.

After this, I decided it was time to go home, but I wanted to stay at the mall under it stopped showering. But then, I decided to take the subway...

Then I saw THIS!

That's all the MTA Bus Company photos I took on that day. I also made some videoclips, including one with 5926, which I hope to upload soon, hopefully tomorrow. (Unfortunately, the clip of 5926 is brief, 'cause my camera died as I taped it. :P )

Hope you enjoyed viewing my photos. Till then!

Nice pics and catches! One thing, just don't use flash in the photos. I think it's illegal for buses since it can alter the B/O's vision (you're in bright sunshine too, no need for flash anyway and it eats up your camera battery). Also, if you don't want the thread to be 56K, you can just link your best 10-30 shots and provide an album link for people who want to see more.

Regarding the first segment I bolded, the flash is illegal to take subway pics. You can use flash when taking pictures of buses. (The only reason flash/lights are illegal in subways is because they can injure those on the platform.)

As for the second, I put the flash on "auto," so it doesn't always go off. But in terms of the battery, I didn't know it can eat up the battery, so I'll definitely keep that thought in mind.

Glad you liked them, though, and thanks to Concourse and trainfan for their comments.

As for the buses, being at Elmhust gave me a big opportunity to see many old buses, especially the ex-PBL RTSs, 'cause buses ran very frequently on all the lines. But seeing 5926 came as a huge shock, 'cause I didn't expect it. Whenever they completely retire, I hope someone decides to buy one of those old PBL RTSs so they can clean it/them up and make them last for many more years.
