Differences between city/LI Orion Vs

The GPS system which exists on Long Island's Orion Vs, the seating arrangements, the windows on both the 2000 and 2003 models, the exhaust setup and Luminator Horizons on the 2003 models, and let's not forget their Alcoa rims!

Oh, and the engine covers (of the Detroits) are different on Long Island's buses as well, they're low with a bar ringing around the perimeter. The ones we here in the city have are either half raised with a flat top with three bars perpendicular to the back wall or a two section sloping cover (even higher) with three bars also perpendicular to the rear wall.

Oh, and here's a recent recording on one of the 2003's :P

1400-1525 has the Cummins L10G engine.

1526-1699 has the Detroit Diesel Series 50G DDEC engine. (Like NYCT's Orion V CNGs. 1633-1699 have a similar config like Orion VII CNG [7561, 7683-7819])

All buses have the Alison B-400R WTEC transmission.

1400-1404 were the FIRST Orion V CNGs Long Island received back in the day (1993). Those have been gone and off the roster since the formation of RBO. The Cummins powered Orion Vs started at 1405.

Wrong, 1400-1405 were 1996 models along with the 1800's

the first CNG Orion V's for LIB was in 1992 there were in the 660 series and there was one if you have the old LIB bus map you would see an old Orion V CNG that has the same old signs as the old 1990/91 models and they had the cummins L10G like the rest of them, rerember a CNG can only last 12-14 years those 1992 CNG Orion V's retierd when the 2003/04 Orion V's were comming in.

and the 100 series Orion V's were 1996 models.
