For service from this station, take the to Bay Pkwy and transfer to a Coney Island-bound . _______________________________ Thoughts?

May I suggest repair/replacement of the stairway from the platform to the mezzanine perhaps? I'm sure there is a logical reason! One of you guys should investiagate and tell us. CenSin Posted January 28, 2011 Share #6 Posted January 28, 2011 Would the run on the express track to skip the station? I know siwtching adds delays, but it might save time overall since the train wouldn't have to crawl through the station.

Probably not, because the switch to get back over to the local track is after Bay 50 St, and that station would still be served..
Amtrak7 Posted January 28, 2011 Share #8 Posted January 28, 2011 At least it's only a week, like that Northern Blvd closure a few years back.

Whoops! I had my mind on Kings Highway, Avenue U, and Avenue X.
dman1455 Posted January 28, 2011 Share #10 Posted January 28, 2011 It's the West End Rehab project... If you go over to 25th Avenue now you can see some of the new walls up on the Coney Island side, What there probably doing is work on the ground like there doing at other stations. R32 3348 Posted January 29, 2011 Share #11 Posted January 29, 2011 They could be replacing the stairs which would mean you can't access the platform from the mezzanine. That would explain why the project only lasts a week.
BroadwayBuffer Posted January 30, 2011 Share #12 Posted January 30, 2011 Lol, I'd love to see an train in South Brooklyn.... Used to see them from time to time when the R ran R-42s. They would sometimes come to Brooklyn almost completely signed as E's. So that's about as close as you could get to an E in South Brooklyn other than a reroute to Whitehall St.
