mark1447 Posted June 23, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2011 Why is it that some Uptown trains are ending at Lenox Terminal? 180th Street Rehab related? Some Bronx-bound trains are rerouted to the 148 St Station , the last stopAM Rush Hours Mon to Fri, until Jul 29 Transfer at 135 St to continue your trip. Queens Surface Posted June 23, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 23, 2011 Must be related to the E180th Signal work going on, maybe to avoid congesting the WPR.

cotb16 Posted June 23, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 23, 2011 Having less trains in the Bronx during the AM rush will mean sardine-can trains for South Bronx and Wakefield riders as many more express trains pass the local stops, unfortunately. Andres Posted June 24, 2011 Share #8 Posted June 24, 2011 in the afternoon and midday hours both and trains come like sardines. there is no northbound service so the slack is carried evenly northbound until 180th street and even more trains are going to nereid to help out with the rider issue

Yes, there is, and I'm not sure if its actually going to 148 station itself or just turning in Lenox Yard (which is typically what happens when some sort of delay in the Bronx results in turned trains at Lenox). The last stop is usually 135th in those situations, and the trains doesnt go into the station but just into the yard so service isnt disrupted. Well it seems like it is, simply because of the wording: "...rerouted to the 148 St Station , the last stop"
sovetskii52 Posted July 2, 2011 Share #13 Posted July 2, 2011 Well, somebody better go take a few videos of trains at 145th Street and 148th Street. Too bad it's only during AM Rush Hours.
