Therefore, any news, please place them here and I will update the list, but it will be done twice a month. I do have college and while I love being a bus fan and buff, it's not really helping me with my associates classes. TheTransitman, this was always your baby and it still is. Anytime you want to jump in and help out, you got the THUMBS UP from me. Any font, color, or style that you want, go for it. I don't care. And until further notice, only MYSELF and TheTransitMan is allowed to edit the roster unless someone notifies me first. The new Roster will be up by Friday so any changes, please document them here before hand. It just makes no sense when the 5900s were just delivered two months ago, how do they deliver new buses to a garage and they're still short?? Its a shame that South Jersey ( Newton Ave & Washington Twp) always suffers to please North Jersey! If there were more urban-ly grouped cities as Newark, Jersey City, New York City, Paterson, and others more closely together as they are in North Jersey than South Jersey, then the discussion of more buses in South Jersey would have more merit. Now, I'm not saying that you guys don't need more buses since you guys have problems too with overcrowding and such. It's amazing why you guys don't have articulated buses down south. If there was more people coming together with signatures and other forms to let NJT officials know what's really going on down there, NJT might (MIGHT) consider adding more buses and equipment there. That would also spark new jobs, but again, there has to be a proof of the need of added equipment since that is a investment on it's own adding a new garage, hiring new staff, training them, getting new buses, hiring new mechanics, bus cleaners, hiring people to dig the underground for the fuel tanks, and a lot of other legalities. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There's another issue that is not discussed up in the power offices in Newark, that is there is a serious need for revision of the South Jersey bus system. The buses do not go to where the jobs are and it is a major hassle to ge there because in most cases, you have to go to Camden to transfer. We need more bus routes to start or pass through PATCO stations. We also need more feeder bus service at RiverLINE stations to connect the route to job sites along I-295. The last few years have seen major cutbacks on runs to Philadelphia, and where did those runs go? They just disappeared, they were'nt reallocated to better intrastate service, or new routes serving new areas. Those runs were simply cut out. Another problem is that service is being wasted for no reason at all. What service I'm talking about? It's the 409/419 routes whose ridership was considerably altered with the operation of the RiverLINE. The 419 buses carries NOBODY past Camden, and the 409 buses run empty between Burlington and Trenton. What can be done? Restructure the 452, that will take care of the 419's Camden ridership, and split the 409 in to two routes: Philly-Roebling [409], and Trenton-Willingboro[623], with the 418 handling service when the RiverLINE is not operating. In the end, NJT is not being smart about their regions. they sacrifice the Southern Division for the North, not realizing the needs of the riders in this region. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
