Wallyhorse Posted April 10, 2012 Share #451 Posted April 10, 2012 (edited) New scenario: The 6th Avenue line (except for Grand Street, Broadway-Lafayette and West 4th) and Rutgers tunnels are BOTH out due to separate issues. Trains on 6th Avenue can use the tracks at West 4th to cross over and can use the Manhattan Bridge. Threxx Posted April 11, 2012 Share #458 Posted April 11, 2012 Pretty even. The Brighton could handle 5, , that is with the on the Express though. That's because they are all 8 TPH. Not the case with the 6th & 8th Avenue Lines, though. (The , , on the same track is still too much.)
TwoTimer Posted April 11, 2012 Share #459 Posted April 11, 2012 As with what happened yesterday... with a twist. On a Friday night, a fire destroyed some of the signal equipment on the southbound side of the Brighton between Church and Prospect. Both local and express tracks are out, the northbound tracks are also OOS due to power being off across the grid in the area (Prospect Park to Kings Highway). There are a couple B's (north of Brighton) and a couple Q's (north of Stillwell) in the area. The weekend GO shutting down the West End s/b will go into effect soon. There are four R's still have to get back into CIY. What do you do?
Guest Lance Posted April 11, 2012 Share #460 Posted April 11, 2012 Let me take a crack at this one: - short turns at 2 Av; if heading to Coney Island Yard, go via Culver and OOS at Avenue X - obviously via Sea Beach Local to Stillwell Av s/b only; some trains via Culver due to space limitations - normal - to Stillwell Av via Sea Beach Exp, from Stillwell Av via West End Exp Turn the remaining trains on the Brighton line at Kings Highway. Send the Coney Island-bound trains down the Sea Beach local tracks.
j express Posted April 11, 2012 Share #461 Posted April 11, 2012 B The last southbound trains would go to Kings Highway F and north bound trains would not run. D southbound trains run via N and northbound regular route. N normal Q reouted via the N in both directions R normal and trains deadheading to Coney Island yard run via N to 86 st and enter the yard from there.

NX Express Posted April 12, 2012 Share #466 Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) By just north, I meant the interlocking that leads into Coney Island. Couldn't the also turn at Bay 50th (Manhattan-bound platform)? And @trainguy: Brighton can't handle all on one track.
