Track switches. I didn't see any that would allow for a switch before Broadway Junction, only the pocket track at Myrtle.

There's switches right before Broadway Junction as soon as you climb out the portal

Next, all IND and IRT tracks at 34th St-Penn Station are being used for movie making.

Also, in addition, police find body of missing teenager at abandoned 91st St and 18th St platform.

Affects (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(A)(C)(E).

I'd assume the body would not affect the trains running through...

(1) trains run in two sections, 242nd Street to 96th Street with (1) trains running on the express tracks with downtown trains running express from 135th to 96th. These reverse on the northbound platform at 96th.

NEXT: Due to a collapse of a 3 story building in lower manhattan the following lines are affected.

(1) from Canal St to Rector St or South Ferry.

(A) from West 4 St to WTC

(R) From Prince St to Whitehall St

(6) City Hall to Brooklyn Bridge.

Reroute trains as needed.

This one makes no sense, especially for the (6) one... other lines share track with these lines in those areas... I'll just do the lines you mentioned.

(1): No service between 34th Street and Lower Manhattan.

(2)/(3): Via local south of 42nd Street.

(A): No service between 34th Street-Penn Station and Chambers Street.

(R): No service between Court Street and Canal Street.

(6): Trains operate to Bowling Green. Some trains also terminate at 125th Street. Expect delays.

How does a 3 story building cause this much widespread damage?

_____________

NEXT:

Water damage has caused a cave-in along the Nassau Street line between Fulton Street and north of Bowery station. Reroute (J) and (Z) trains.

Highly unrealistic.....

All stations within 2 miles are unusable?  Grand Central station is less than 2 miles from there as well as all Lexington Avenue stations up to and including 77th Street.  The (E)(M)(N)(Q)(R) at 5th Avenue are all less than 2 miles away as well.  The (G) Nassau Street station is less than 2 miles away, the (7)/LIRR Woodside is just under 2 miles away, Astoria Blvd (N)(Q) less than that, and the (M)(R) Northern Blvd is.

Almost all of those stations are underground as well, so they can't possibly be affected.

That's like saying a small plane crashing into a building at 4th Av-9th St (F)(G)(R) will shut down every single subway station in Downtown Brooklyn.
